Totally Rad Wednesday

Is anyone else a little bit obsessed with all of the gifs for the stories on Instagram? Because I kinda am. ๐Ÿ˜‚

It has in fact, been a totally rad day though! I got so much done!! Haha I still have a piss ton of other stuff I need to do though. My brother-in-law, his girlfriend, and her kids are coming over at some point this weekend (and fingers crossed my brother-in-law will finally take all of the shit that he left in our spare bedroom when he moved out 9 months ago. Oh did I mention he never told us he was moving out? He didn’t even pack up his shit or anything. Just left a huge mess for Luke and I to clean up. Which we did. We even boxed up his stuff for him.), and my house is kinda of a disaster haha. I’ve got a pretty decent start on things though! But before I got to any of that, of course I had to get my run in. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Spring has finally made it’s way back to Kansas, so oh boy is it windy! That made running a little more difficult than it normally would have been, but holy cow did I have fun! I basically did a quality workout with a couple of strides thrown in at the end and it was a lot of fun! It was pretty hard too, but in a good way and not in the I’m still sick and feel like I’m dying way, which was nice. And I am still kinda sick, but today has been a vast improvement and I could definitely tell during my run. ๐Ÿ™‚

img_1123

My peach tree is blooming and looks super pretty right now, so obviously I had to take my very Instagram-y post-run Garmin photo with it in the back ground. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was a really good run! Afterwards I was full of energy and ready to tackle my big project of the day; cleaning out the spare bedroom. That’s where the rabbits, ferrets (although they had to be temporarily moved) live, and where we had been keeping the chickens in their brood box. The thing is, they had not been staying in the brood box. They’ve basically had full run of that room for about two weeks now. Luke and I wanted to move them out of the house and into their coop when that started happening but it was still really cold out and they were still to young to be out in the cold like that without a heat lamp or something, but if we had done that they wouldn’t of had much room in their nesting area and it probably would have ended up getting too hot for them anyway. But anyway, it’s finally starting to warm up again but more importantly they have all of their feathers now, so last night the chickens graduated to their coop.

At night they have to be locked in the nesting area (so they’ll be quite and for their own safety), so that’s where they spent the night and then this morning when we woke up Luke opened the door to the outside portion of their coop but they didn’t make their way down there until a little after 2 pm haha. But once they got down there they pecked and scratched and the dirt to their little chicken heart’s content, and once they got tired of that (and probably a little bit cold in the wind) they made their way back into the nesting area. So this transition has gone just about as well as it could have and they seem pretty happy to be outside! But that still left the spare bedroom to be cleaned…

Oh man, was is a mess in there! There was wood shavings, chicken feed, feathers, and poop everywhere. And I’m pretty sure the poor rabbits were getting annoyed with the chickens just roaming around that room. The last couple of days they had taken to roosting on top of poor Runes cage. I’m sure she wasn’t a fan of that.

Anyway, I swept, mopped, scrubbed, vacuumed, and mopped the floor again in there. I also cleaned both rabbit cages while I was at it, because why not. Haha plus Rune likes to chase the broom while I’m sweeping and weirdly enough likes the vacuum. Daisy is not a fan of either of those things though, so she stayed safely in her cage while Rune got to run around and help me clean for 2 hours hahaha.

Yeah, that first photo isn’t even a “before” photo. It was a “I’m almost done” photo. It was bad… Rune was having fun though haha. There is still some chicken poop stuck to the floor. Kinda gross, I know, but I’m gonna need a putty knife or something to scrape it off with, so Luke’s gonna get me one on his way home from work. Still though, its a vast improvement! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m very glad that the chickens are finally outside in their coop. Won’t have to worry about having a huge mess like that anymore. Also, just ignore those blinds. My brother-in-law’s dog tore them up, along with the screen in the other window, because my brother-in-law just left him behind and didn’t even come get him until 4 months after he’d moved out and Luke told him he had to take him. Apparently after he abandoned his dog a bunch of people were telling him that was a shitty thing to do, but it still took him 4 freaking months to come get him…I’m just he’s finally gone. My dogs did not like my brother-in-law’s dog at all.

And just for the record, I don’t just leave the rabbits in dog crates without any sort of bedding. I keep several old sheets in their cages and the both like to dig and tunnel in them. They were just in the washer when I took this photo haha.

Another project Luke and I want to start is fixing up our rabbit hutch (it’s in bad shape so I can’t use it) and maybe even building another one. Our rabbits don’t get along so they can’t be housed together… I like being able to leave them outside in the hutch when the weather is nice, but can’t really do that at the moment. So for now the rabbits are stuck inside. Hahaha luckily they aren’t as messy as the chickens though!

Whew! After doing all of that I was pretty beat! Cleaning up the chicken mess was a lot of work and I had done a relatively hard workout before hand! So once I was done cleaning I showered, ate lunch, and took and hour long nap. That was nice. ๐Ÿ™‚

After that I worked on a few blog posts, did a little bit of yoga, and then got some more cleaning done. Not a lot, but hey, it was something. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m just feeling pretty great all-in-all. We’re (hopefully) finally getting my brother-in-law’s shit out of our house and finally moving on from the whole all around terrible experience of him living with us for 2 years, I got a lot done today, my peach tree is blooming,ย  I’m finally starting to get over this cold/upper respiratory thing both Luke and I have had for a week now, he says he’s starting to feel better too ๐Ÿ™‚ , and I had a great run.

The Last 10 Photos On My Phone And The Story Behind Them

I saw this idea on one of those “blog post ideas” blog posts, on a blog about blogging that I found on Pintrest hahaha. Does anyone else find blogs about blogging super duper annoying? Like, “here’s a list of 100 of the most generic blog post ideas ever”. Or “here’s how I went from no readers to 304957498679387520984 readers in only 3 months!”.ย  Riiiight I’m sure me paying a bazillion dollars for you’re online guide is really gonna teach me how to accomplish anything. Especially since it’s probably the most generic, vague thing ever. Haha I don’t even know why I bother reading those blogs every once in a while. I always end up super annoyed with how fake the people are and how hard they try to push their guides, tutorials, and “classes” onto people. Whatever. ๐Ÿ˜‰

But I did see this idea for a blog post and I did think it would be pretty fun! Especially considering I take photos of just about everything, and have an interesting collection of memes and other photos from the internet, so I definitely have some fun ones on my phone! Not gonna lie though, I cheated a little bit and didn’t use any of the photos that I’ve posted here or on instagram. I figured seeing them for the 8 billionth time would be boring, so I skipped those. But other than that, these really are the last 10 photos on my phone. ๐Ÿ™‚

10. Super Spiffy New Socks!

I love socks! Especially thick, warm socks, because unless it’s super hot outside, my feet are always freezing cold. The problem is that I’m also really super good at wearing holes into my socks (and even shoes!) at the very ball of my feet. I’m not sure how I do it, but that means I’m often obtaining new socks. Haha and the more exciting the better! I saw these at Hot Topic and I had to get them because the are adorable!

9. The Continuing Meme War.ย

So my husband and I are at all times in the middle of a meme war. We both spend an absurd amount of time scouring facebook, ifunny, Instagram, Pintrest, and a plethora of other pages looking for the best memes/internet posts, constantly trying to one up each other. Anything involving dogs is usually a very big win, but border collies are even better! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Also, this is the best news headline I’ve ever seen.

img_9116

8. Does This Even Surpriseย Anyone Anymore?

Of course I have a bunch of Green Day photos on my phone that I didn’t even take…Haha I want to say I got this photo from greendayauthority.com, but I couldn’t tell you with any certainty. Which really sucks because it’s a great photo from the Uno, Dos, Tre tour and I would love to give the photographer credit for their work (I always try to do that anyway). But anyway, this is one of my all time favorite photos from a Green Day show, and it’s currently the lock screen on my phone haha.

img_9187

7. Partially Purple Hair, Don’t care.ย

Unfortunatly it’s not this purple anymore. It’s faded out super fast and that really sucks. But it was fun while it lasted (and I might end up doing it again). And in case anyone was wondering, I am the queen of bad selfies.

img_9138

6. My Appendixย Tried To Kill Me Once. Now I’m Short One Appendix.ย

Another meme from the meme wars. My husband actually sent this one to me, because I had an appendectomy when I was 13. Haha I swear I know more about appendixes now that I don’t have one, than I did back when I actually still had mine!

5. Winchester Knows How To Get Comfy.ย

Earlier this week Luke and I started cleaning out my brother-in-law’s old room since he doesn’t live here anymore, but left a piss ton of his stuff behind. So we packed up most of it and have it all in a pile for him to come take. Winchester found said pile and the dog bed on the very top of it all. He is currently very happy about this situation.

img_9243

Haha alright, that was actually the most recent photo that I’ve taken that I haven’t shared anywhere yet. I underestimated how many photo’s I’ve actually posted here and on my other social media accounts, so I had to back track a litter further into my camera roll for the next 5 photos hahahaha.

4. I Am One Of Those Melodramatic Fools

My Basket Case eyeliner!! I’ve yet to figure out how to make it work on the tops of my eyes, but I’ve definitely got the messy look down on the bottom and I absolutely love it! ๐Ÿ™‚

img_8895

3. It’s Not Uncommon to Find Rabbits On My Furniture.ย

Daisy isn’t a fan of being picked up, or pet. But she does like the chill on the couch next to people and rub her face all over them.

img_8852

2. My First Tattoo, Featuring My Appendectomy Scar.ย

It is incredibly hard for me to get a decent photo of this thing, which is exactly what I was trying to accomplish haha. It always ends up looking weird and distorted because of the weird angle. Haha oh well. It’s not like it’s a great tattoo anyway, but it’s mine and I love it. It’s also surprisingly holding up pretty well after 6 years of me having it. I was a little worried about all of the super light colors the artist used because those tend to fade faster on some people, but really the only color that actually faded out was some bright orange he put in between the petals. But the yellow, green, and bright pink has held up pretty well!

img_8823

1. Go Figure The Last One Is Another Green Day Thing…

I had to go all the way back to December 28th for this one! Haha I share a lot of my photos on social media…Anyway, obviously I stole this from Billie Joe Armstrong’s Instagram account. But I liked the message to the “young rock n rollers”, so I screen shot it so I can have it forever hahaha. I’m such a total fan girl….

img_8630

Alrighy then! Those were the last 10 photos on my phone (that weren’t plastered all over social media) and the stories behind them! I really hope you enjoyed this post because I thought it was a lot of fun and I just might end up doing this again! ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a great Saturday everyone!!

Half Marathon Training Day 35 (Because I’m Still An Athlete On Off Days), Life Is Messy, New Hair, and Other Catching Up In General

Oh man life is messy. I’ve currently got a lot going on with multiple sides of my family, I’m training for a half marathon, keeping up with my husband, my dogs, a new rabbit, my other rabbit and other pets, my sister’s dog, my garden, the house, and just life in general. I’m also still kind of experiencing the post concert blues (haha yup, I’m still hung up on all the Green Day feels. You can read about that night here and here if you missed it. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m feeling a little bit overwhelmed right now and I feel like I’ve been neglecting several of the things mentioned above, along with this blog and my Vidme account. Haha I’m also going to shamelessly plug my Instagram account while I’m at it, because I am actually keeping up with that. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So yeah, as you can probably already tell, I’m going to be linking to several older posts in this little update. Mostly because I’m trying to organize all of my thoughts and re-reading the stuff I’ve already written helps. And ya know, it helps anyone who missed anything and wanted to catch up with the weirdness that is my life or wanted to go back and figure out what the heck I’m talking about haha. I like to think it helps.

Anyway, ย I’m not entirety sure where to start or where this post is going to end up going so if you’re reading this you’re about to embark on what is probably going to be a long adventure in self reflection and discovery with me. ๐Ÿ™‚ Okey Dokey, lets get into it then shall we?

Starting with running! Yay running! The whole reason I started this blog and one thing that I think sometimes I neglect to talk in depth enough here haha. So, half marathon training day ___ actually ended up being a rest day. That wasn’t supposed to be the case (according to my training scheduled, anyway.), today was supposed to be a long run day. 10 miles to be exact. I wasn’t entirely sure if that was going to happen though. In my last post here on the blog, I talked a little bit about how I ended up hurting my knee (at the Green Day concert, I think) and ended up taking all of last week off from running. It’s been feeling better this week, but it’s still not back at 100% yet. I’ve been able to do all of my workouts this week with minimal pain, but I wasn’t sure how it would hold up for 10 miles. But of course last night was one of those nights when I just couldn’t fall asleep (that happens to me every once in a while). I finally fell asleep around 1:40 am, but at that point I knew my long run wasn’t going to happen today. So I decided to rest today and hopefully do a long run tomorrow. Haha at the very least now my knee is getting an extra day off after the interval workout I did yesterday.

So yeah, no running for me today. But I am still working on things that will make tomorrow’s (hopefully) long run better. I’ve been eating pretty well, I’m drinking plenty of water, and I’ve done a little bit of stretching/ foam rolling. Go me! ๐Ÿ™‚ Haha I have this really bad habit of getting super lazy and not taking care of myself on days when I don’t run. I’m trying to work on that though. I’ve been telling myself that I’m still an athlete on my days off and that means I should act as such. So far that’s gone well for me today, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see if I actually stick with it.

So yeah, running stuff. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Haha I’ll actually be posting a Weekly Recap this week, so if you’re at all interested in how my 3rd (I think it’s the 3rd anyway) week of half marathon training is going that’ll be up at some point tomorrow.

Ok moving on to some animal stuff (because I can’t not talk about them ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). So two-ish weeks ago I had mentioned that our rabbit, Rey had died. Luke and I were worried about our other rabbit, Daisy, because rabbits are very social and she’s always had Rey, so Luke ended up bringing home a new baby bunny that very day. She is an adorable little fluffball who I’ve named Rune. ๐Ÿ™‚

Unfortunately Daisy has been acting very strange about the new bunny situation. When we first introduced them she was fine, she would clean her, cuddle her, and they seemed like they were going to be fast friends. That wasn’t the case though…She ended up shoving Rune into the corner of the cage and wouldn’t let her near the food, but when I tried to take Rune out of the cage that little bitch bit me (something she’s never done!) and literally grabbed Rune by the foot and dragged her back into the cage. So yeah, they live in separate cages now and we’re slowly trying to introduce them back to each other.

On the bright side, Rune is a very sweet little rabbit! She’s very social and loves to be pet. Haha last night I was trying to read in my bed while I let her run around, which she did. But she’d also let me know that I wasn’t paying enough attention to her by headbutting me whenever she wanted to be pet. Silly little thing.

And sticking with animals for just one moment longer, my Sister’s dog Ace is still here. He was originally going to be here for 4 days, but at this point we’re going on 3 weeks. I mean, it’s not like he’s a bad dog or anything and he gets along fine with my dogs, but it’s loooong past time for him to go home…Supposedly my sister’s boyfriend is supposed to come get him tomorrow, but I guess we’ll see if that actually happens. He was supposed to come a week ago to get him, but he didn’t because we we’re too far out of his way…And yeah, our house is about 30 minutes out of the way when you’re driving from Illinois (where he’s from) to Colorado where my sister now lives, but on a 10+ hour car ride that’s really notย that bad. Especailly since he can stop here andย nap if he wants to, eat for free, walk around, use the bathroom, etc. But whatever.

img_5881

He enjoys laying on my yoga mat while I’m trying to stretch.

Alright! I think I’m actually getting close to the end of stuff I wanted to talk about! Haha I thought this was going to take a lot longer for me to get all out. Apparently I didn’t want to go as in depth into this stuff as I thought haha. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyways, onto my last order of business, I changed my hair!! I got super bored with my natural hair color/blond streak that I’ve been rocking off and on since I was 17, so I dyed it black. And I succsessfully did it without dyeing my forehead/ears black as well!! Haha last time I dyed my hair black I did and it looked awful…But I didn’t do it this time and I’m definitely enjoying the change! I’m thinking I’m going to end up sticking with the black for a while, but eventually I’m going to start missing my blond streak and I’ll end up with it again. Over the years I’ve gone with a purple streak, my usual blond streak, red, short red, black, medium black (what I’ve currently go going on), but I always end up back at the blond streak. Haha it’s just easier to keep up with and I think it looks neat. But like I said, I’m very happy with the change right now, and I’m gonna stick with it for a while.

Alrighty, I believe that basically sums up what I’ve had going on in my life. For the most part at least. But now that I’m back at running and mostly back on my regular scheduled, I’ll be more active here on the blog and talking more about half marathon training, and eventually I’ll start making vlogs again.

Ok, I need to go mop my floors now. I hope you have a great weekend!

Thursday Things

Finn slept all night last night! Yay! I also slept a little bit better so that’s nice. ๐Ÿ™‚ I got up at 7 am, ate breakfast, had a cup of coffee, and geared up for my run. I was super pumped and ready to go! Unfortunately my upbeat attitude and dreams of a super fun run came crashing down the second my Garmin caught a GPS signal and started running. My legs felt like lead, my hips were on fire, my quads were crazy tight, and I was hot but not really sweating much because I hardly drank any water yesterday because I’m dumb. Good times.

I thought about toughing it out, hell I almost did. But at 1.3 miles I started getting kinda dizzy, so I decided to stop at a 1.5 miles, go home, drink a bunch of water, stretch, foam roll, and eat some damn vegetables.

Processed with Rookie Cam

But first I had to shower because I was kinda sweaty and gross. After I did that I did start working on the hydration thing though. While I was working on that, I went outside to take care of the rabbits and play with the dogs a little bit. But when I went to the rabbit hutch I realized that Rey wasn’t inside anymore. Upon further inspection I found that she had dug her way out. Great. I started frantically searching the yard, hoping that she was still somewhere near by. That’s when I saw her run out from under the shed, see me, then run right back under it again.

I found her, then tried coaxing her out with orange slices and dandelions, but she had probably been out all morning gorging herself on all of the grass and weeds in the backyard, so she wasn’t budging.

img_2854

So, see that cinder block that she’s behind? Yeah I had to dig it out of the ground and then pull it out from under the shed. That wasn’t an easy task, but I got it out of the way and Rey was still just sitting in front of the hole I made, but now with her back to me. So I slowly reached under the shed, carefully positioned my hands over her, and snatched her out of the hole! SUCCESS!! She is now safe and sound in a dog crate in my kitchen, until I figure out what to do with her now. I’m just glad I had found her and got her back safely before something else found her.

img_2857

After the bunny was safe again, I ate some lunch, had another bottle of water, and then took Lily for a walk. For the most part it wasn’t a very eventful walk, but we did find a cat that looks a lot like our Winchester. This guys just a little bit lighter in color than Winchester is. I just thought that was neat haha.

img_2866

After our walk I finally quite procrastinating and got my stretch on. I did a 30 minute yoga video specifically for runners. That was really nice and I felt pretty darn great afterwards. And then I rolled my hamstrings and hips a little bit. I probably should have done my quads too, but I kinda wanted to wait for Luke to get home so he could do it with my roller wand thingy. He can get them so much better and deeper than I can! I feel like its a leverage thing or something.

Processed with Rookie Cam

Anyway, after my little yoga session I may or may not have took a short little nap on the couch with Finn and Lily. I guess we were all tired from the bunny fiasco. That was a kinda stressful situation haha. Anyway after our little nap, I chugged another bottle of water, put on a pair of compression sockes (my heals were hurting a little bit, so I figured that’d be a good idea), turned on the latest episode of the Runner’s World Show and got to cleaning the house. ๐Ÿ™‚

img_2869

Around 5 pm Luke got home and announced that we were going out to eat after he got done showering, and that I needed to change out of the running tank top I was wearing. Haha I mean, I do spend about 85% of my time in active wear, but I’m also running really low on tank tops and “nice” shirts. I guess I need to go shopping… Anyway we ended up getting Chinese food and it was pretty good!

After my failed attempt at running this morning I thought that maybe I’d give it another shot this evening, but now it’s 8 pm and getting a little too dark for that. I guess I can stationary bike or foam roll some more or something.

I hope you had a happy Thursday!

~Ashley

Ugh, Mornings.ย

I’ve been the worst morning person ever, as of late. Usually I wake up pretty naturally around 7 am, but recently…well not so much. I’ve been setting an alarm, but jokes on me since I have no where to be, I’ve gotten into the habit of turning it off and sleeping for another hour.

It’s not like 8 am is a bad time to get up or anything. I just prefer being up an hour earlier. I feel like I get more accomplished and I do (usually) enjoy mornings. Especially since getting up earlier means I can eat, run, stretch, eat again, shower, and then get on with my day.

I suppose waking up at a certain time is just habit and I’ve definitely fallen out of it. This is probably one of those things that I’m just going to have force myself to do a few times before it starts feeling any better. Then I’ll just have to stick with it until I can make it a habit again. Ewww, that’s not fun…but I’m the one who wants to get up earlier, so I guess I’m going to have to work on it haha.

Anyway, mornings and Monday’s can be rough, so here’s a photo of my bunnies eating some cauliflower. Cute animals always make things a little better. ๐Ÿ˜‰

img_8925

And now I suppose I need to go do an easy 3 mile run. At least the weather is nice!

Thunderstorms, Half Marathon Training, and Other Fun Friday Things

At 2 o’clock this morning I was awoken by a huge flash of lightning and a crazy crash of thunder. My first sleepy though was “awesome!” and then I started to drift back to sleep. Until the second bang of thunder that is. That’s when I remembered that the bunnies were outside and they were going to get soaking wet if I left them out there. Now, before anyone freaks out and asks me why they don’t have any shelter, they do, it’s just that the boards don’t have any kind of finishing on them. So when it rains the wood gets when and then the rabbits get wet.

I had to run outside in the pouring rain, grabbed Rey, who usually doesn’t mind being picked up but today didn’t appreciate me pulling her out of the hutch into the rain, ran her inside and put her in the dog crate. The ran back into the rain to grab Daisy, who hates being picked up and fought me every second of our journey into the house. But I got them in before they got soaking wet and that’s all that matters.

Since it was 2 in the morning I obviously planned on going back to sleep after the bunnies where safe and dry. Unfortunately that didn’t go well…Luke was snoring like crazy and started kicking me in his sleep. Luckily that didn’t last too long and I fell back asleep, but like, 40 minutes later it was thundering like crazy and Luke woke me back up to see if I had brought the rabbits inside. Awesome. ๐Ÿ˜‘

So I had  my alarm set for 7 o’clock this morning. I usually get up on my own around that time anyway, but I’m trying to get back onto a specific scheduled so my body will get used to running at 8 am, so I wanted to be sure I got up on time. But thanks to our early morning shenanigans that didn’t happen. I ended up laying in bed for 20 minutes trying to go back to sleep, but with the dogs jumping in and out of bed that didn’t happen.

Anyway, after a much needed cup of coffee and a banana (hey, it’s better than the breakfasts I’ve been having. Well…not having) I started my run about an hour after I had originally planned.

According to my schedule I was supposed to do more hills. Haha nice try Garmin! But I’m sick of hills and there was no way I was doing that today!! It still ended up being a tough workout though (even though I may or may not have walked up several hills) thanks to my lack of sleep, tight hamstrings, and the humidity from the thunderstorms earlier this morning. But Green Day makes everything better and that’s really all that matters. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So as you can see, I ended up doing 4 miles today. They were 4 very random miles. I did random pick ups, walking breaks, and thought my pace was all over the place, but apparently I managed to stay kinda consistent.  This is also the fasted I’ve done 4 miles in a while. I’m still not sure how I managed any of that, especially with all of my hill walking, but I’ll take it!!

Anyway, you know how some runs leave you super energized and ready to take on the day? And how others just leave you feeling drained for the rest of the day? Unfortunately my run today was the latter. I’ve just felt tired and super bleh all day. So, nothing really got done hahaha.

When Luke got home we dozed in bed for a bit, ate dinner, then Luke made tomato sauce and pickles. Unfortunately his tomato sauce jar broke in the boiling water, which happens. But at least we have more pickles. I mean, we want to make sure we don’t run out. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Aaaand now it’s looking like it’s going to thunderstorm again and we’re under a tornado watch. I don’t mind though, I like thunderstorms. Haha and I’ve already brought the bunnies in so I won’t have to go fetch them in the middle of the night. Hopefully that means I’ll get w good night’s sleep before my long run tomorrow.

Happy happy Friday and I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!!

~ Ashley

Random Ramblingsย

Aside from my weekly recaps I haven’t really been posting on here. Lately I just feel like I have nothing interesting to talk about. But in the interest not letting things get stale and redundant around here, this is what’s going on in my world.

Bunnies, bunnies, bunnies!! Something like a week ago we bout a New Zeland cross rabbit, who we named Daisy. And on Monday we bought a Lop cross who we named Rey (yes, like from Star Wars ๐Ÿ˜‰). We’ve been slowly introducing then to each other, but at this point they seem to adore each other.

Last weekend we spent 8 hours building a fancy hutch for them. Rey doesn’t spend more than a few hours outside at a time, but Daisy lives out there permanently and she seems very happy about the whole situation. In the afternoon she liked to nap in the sun and it’s adorable.

Our garden is doing super well! Last weekend we planted potatoes and carrots. Our broccoli and cauliflower are getting bigger and stronger everyday, and I’m so super stoked about it!

We’re going to be doing some traveling in a few months. In June my sister is having surgery and my dad is turning 50. Conviniently both things fall within two weeks of each other, so we’ll be driving to St. Louis for a weekend for them. Then the next weekend Luke’s mom and other siblings will be coming to our house from Minnesota, then we all will be driving from here to Oklahoma where we will be visiting his step sister and her family. That should be quite interesting and a lot of fun!

Running stuff has been going super well for me! I started a new training plan last week and so far so good! Lots and lots of intervals are happening, but I needed to start doing more speed work so it’s all good. I’ve definitely been noticing an improvement in my average paces. That’s been happening before the new training plan, but all the intervals are probably helping.

My hips good, my shins good, my IT band is great! I’m thinking I’m finally over injuries. Yay!! I’m getting stronger and just feeling all around great. ๐Ÿ˜„

So yeah, that’s pretty much what’s going on with me. I’ll leave you with a picture of Winchester being adorable, because why not.
