Happy First Day Of Spring!!

Hahaha flowers like that don’t bloom this time of year here in the Midwest. I just really like this photo (I took it during our family vacation in Florida last July). There are a bunch of daffodils popping up around my neighborhood though, and some of them have started to bloom!

Anyway, we are starting to get some spring-like weather in my part of Kansas. The air is starting to warm up and it rained pretty much all day yesterday. That’s typical spring time weather. We really needed it though. Things were really dry here. Haha and I was pretty excited about that because I love rainy days and think that running in the rain is a lot of fun! πŸ™‚ And yesterday’s 3 miler did not disappoint! I got soaked pretty fast. I also got frostnip on my legs because it was in the low 40’s when I ran. I probably should have put on my wind pants over my running tights. They’re usually pretty good at keeping me relatively dry. But oh well, it really wasn’t that bad and the redness, itchiness, and irritation that came with that was all gone by this morning. That was still totally worth all the fun I had in the rain yesterday.

This morning’s run was nowhere near as fun though. I actually procrastinated doing it by making myself an actual decent breakfast. Who does that?!? Me apparently…

Usually in the morning I can’t be bothered to make anything exciting for breakfast. Sometimes I throw a few frozen, whole wheat waffles in the toaster and then slather them with peanut butter and honey. Other days I’ll just grab a piece of fruit and a cheese stick. Or on really lazy day’s I’ll just eat a Honey Stinger waffle along with my coffee. But I knew running wasn’t going to be very exciting today, so I took a little bit of extra time with my breakfast. I toasted some bread, spread some avocado on it, topped that with sliced, cherry tomatoes, and then fried an egg to go on that as well. Hahaha I know that doesn’t sound too difficult, but in the morning I never feel like putting that much effort into what I’m eating. πŸ˜‰

I did eventually go out and get my run done, though. My 5k training plan called for 2 easy miles followed by a couple of strides, but those 2 miles sure didn’t feel easy… It actually seems to me that most of the “easy” runs I do don’t actually feel easy. They tend to feel more like I’m running through cold molasses. Oh well, I still did it though! Well, the 2 miles. I kinda sorta skipped the strides. I just wasn’t feeling it enough to do those.

But on the bright side, running seems to be going a lot better this week than it did last week! I know it’s only Tuesday, but I’m thinking the rest of the week is going to go pretty well. But maybe I’m only saying that because tomorrow is a rest day and then for Thursday my training plan calls for 30 minutes of cross training, so I wont actually have to run again until Friday. πŸ˜‰ But still, I’m a lot happier about running this week than I was last week, so at least that’s something. πŸ™‚

But anyway, now that spring is here I really need to start thinking about what I want to plant in my garden and I’m going to have to start tilling and preparing my soil here before too long. So far I know I’m definitely going to be growing my staples; tomatoes, banana peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, lettuce, and watermelon. I actually want to grow my vine plants on some kind of structure this year to help make weeding and harvesting a little bit easier. I’ve got a few ideas for that and Luke and I will be starting work on those soon. I also really wish I could get root vegetables to grow a little easier here, but they never do well because the soil here is so full of clay. A lot needs to be done to remedy that…Or you can do raised beds filled with good quality soil but those are kind of expensive to make. Maybe one day though. But for now we’re planning on sticking with plants that we know do well here.

A small harvest from last summer. That watermelon was sooooo good!! Haha I’m on a mission to grow several really good watermelons this year! It seems like each year I’ve grown them I’ve gotten bigger, better melons. And usually a few more than the year before. So I guess I must be learning something! And hopefully if that trend keeps up, I should end up with 5 or 6 really good watermelons this year! πŸ™‚

Now with the addition of our 5 chickens, we should end up getting a pretty decent amount of food from our backyard this year! I’m so freaking excited about having fresh eggs! I can’t wait for my chickens to start laying!! They’ve still got a while to go before they get to that point though. They are doing very well and growing bigger and getting more feathers every day! And as it starts getting even warmer they’re going to be able to spend a little bit more time outside. So far they’ve only been out twice for about 10-15 minutes at a time, just to make sure they didn’t get too cold. But in maybe two or three weeks, as long as it’s warm enough, we’ll be able to move them outside permanently. Haha I have a feeling we wont get that lucky though, it’s probably still going to be pretty chilly in April. If they were fully grown the cold wouldn’t be much of an issue, but when they’re young it’s very important that they’re kept warm.

Oh man, between my garden, the chickens, training for my 5k in May, training for my half marathon in November, the dogs, rabbits, and all of my other critters, plus another vacation we’re going to be going on with Luke’s family, I’m going to be crazy busy this spring and summer! It should be fun though! And besides, I’d much rather be busy than bored. πŸ˜‰

That’s all I’ve got for today! But what about you?

What are you looking forward to this spring? Any exciting plans?

Do you grow a garden? What’s you’re favorite thing to grow?

Does your city allow you to keep chickens? Would you if you could?Β (Technically my city doesn’t allow you to do it without a permit, but when have I ever let rules stop me?!? Luckily my neighbors are cool with it though, so it should be fine. πŸ˜‰ )

Β I hope you’ve had a terrific Tuesday!

March 1st, 2018

The last few days have been kinda boring here in Colorado. Mostly because my dad and brother have to work, but also because my stomach has been kinda bothering me. Probably because I’ve lived off of Chinese food and pizza since Tuesday… As fun as that sounds it’s not doing my body any good. Haha my options were very limited though. But my dad and I went to the store last night and got stuff to make smoothies, Super Hero muffins, and all sort of good stuff like that. 😁

So I ended up spending quite a bit of time in the kitchen, but first I had to get a run in! πŸ˜‰ I hadn’t run in 2 days, so I figured I should today. I didn’t feel like going far though so “short and speedy” was the name of the game today. Although I’m not sure of you could actually call what I did speedy haha. Dealing with the elevation is still pretty tough (I’ve been told it can take several months to actually acclimate to it, and I’m definitely not going to be here for that long), so I just went with what felt hard and did 2 miles of intervals. So the elevation seems to wear me out pretty quick and like I said, I’m not feeling great from all of the junk food, so I ate a Honey Stinger waffle before this run. Not something I’d typically do before such a short run, but I like to think it helped. πŸ˜‰

After I got done with my run I showered and realized just how tired I was. Haha have I mentioned that the elevation wears me out? πŸ˜‰ So I napped for a little bit and then began my cooking/cleaning adventures. This morning my dad had started making this vegetable and chicken soup. It’s got butter nut squash, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, onions, beets, and obviously chicken in it. Super healthy, very tasty, but not very visually appealing haha. But anyway, I finished making that. All I had to do was run it through the blender, so I had the easy job. It took FOREVER though. Plus it was a super messy process, so cleaning up once I was done took a while too. I also made Super Hero muffins for my dad to try! Well, it’s more like a Super Hero cake, since they don’t have a muffin tin. But still just as tasty! Also less visually appealing than actual muffins though haha. πŸ˜‰

Other than running, napping, and cooking, I also spend quite a bit of time doing laundry, walking Niko, playing with Bella, and cleaning up around the apartment. So basically normal everyday things that I’d usually do at home and for different dogs/people haha. But it’s more exciting because it’s all in Colorado, right? πŸ˜‰

Anyway, earlier today I told my dad about a whisky 5k that’s held in Martin City (which is in the KC area where I live). He told me that’s literally the perfect 5k for him, since he loves whisky and his last name is Martin (and mine was too, before I got married haha). And every finisher gets a medal and a pint glass and since my dad kinda collects pint glasses (and other fancy glasses), I told him that we were gonna have to do it together. So we are! I’m so freaking stoked!! This’ll be his first official 5k and the first time I’ve had someone to run with during a race! It’s gonna be so much fun! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

My dad’s gonna have to get a real pair of running shoes though. On Thanksgiving when we ran around the lake near his apartment he did it in work boots. Yeah, he said that wasn’t fun haha. I told him to go to a specialty running store and have them help him find a pair, so hopefully he has a chance to do that. I mean, he’s only got 10 days to get that done haha.

Whew! I’m super duper stoked right now!

I hope you’ve had a good Thursday!

February 27th, 2018

Last night I had an interesting experience with Niko. I have been sleeping on the couch in the living room and Niko usually sleeps on the floor out there. So last night before I went to bed, I’d gotten up to get a drink of water, and while I was up I noticed Niko’s water bowl was empty so I filled that up as well. While I was doing that he started eating out of his food bowl and growling at me. So at that point I was like “oh shit”. Because his particular breed is very aggressive and can be quite vicious. I mean, he is a Russian bear dog after all (also known as a Caucasian Shepard and Caucasian ovcharka). Plus that dog only weighs 28 pounds less than I do, and has teeth meant for ripping, tearing, and killing. So obviously I was pretty nervous.

I don’t usually get too worried when a dog gets aggressive, but look at this thing! He was literally bred to be a killing machine! Don’t get me wrong though, he can be very sweet and I don’t mind being around him or handling him when he’s in a good mood.

After a minute or so he got tired of me being so close to his food dish so he picked it up and moved it to the living room. I tired talking to him nicely, was being very calm, and moving slowly, but every time I took a step from the kitchen into the living room he’d start growling and barking at me. And I didn’t want to take any chances because of the reasons I’ve stated above.

Luckily after about 5 minutes of being stuck in the kitchen my brother came out of his bedroom to use the bathroom, so one he was done I yelled down the hallway for him to come help me haha. And of course Niko didn’t care if he walked into the living room (although my dad said usually it’s my brother that he growls at). My brother walked in there, pet him, gave him a treat, and took his food bowl away, but Niko still wouldn’t let me into the living room. So I gave him a treat, but he still wasn’t having it. He got pissy every time I tried to leave the kitchen. So eventually my brother just let me sleep in his room and he slept in the living room with Niko. Haha but of course this morning Niko came barging into my brother’s room and wanted to be my friend again. Probably because he wanted me to take him outside hahaha. He’s a very moody dog.

But anyway, he’s fine with me again today haha.

So I am freaking sore from running in the ice/snow yesterday. Probably because I haven’t really done much running since I hurt my toe. Although that’s doing a lot better now. And the elevation here is wearing me out haha. So I figured today would be a good day for a rest day. Plus my dad and brother had to work today and my mom’s not really into hiking or outdoors stuff. So I guess it kinda worked out to not really do much today.

It was super nice outside today thought. So later in the morning I ended up walking 2 miles on the trail near my parents’ apartment. It’s so pretty out there it’s the views of Longs Peak and the lake. Plus unlike my mom, sitting inside all day isn’t an option. So my little walk made me feel better. 😊

Anyway, last night we went to Walmart and had quite the debacle. We got all of our food/groceries and we went to the checkout, got everything scanned/bagged but then both my mom’s and brothers’s checks got declined (apparently that happens a lot with they’re bank). We couldn’t get ahold of my dad, so we drove back to their apartment, but he didn’t want to go to Walmart (he had worked all day), so we never got our groceries. Last night for dinner I had a cream cheese/apricot preserve sandwich. Not bad, but Luke felt bad for me so he had an order of Pad Tia sent to me for lunch. He is literally the best. πŸ˜„

I suppose that pretty much sums up my day. Haha it was kinda really boring. Hopefully tomorrow will be more eventful. πŸ˜‰

Happy Tuesday!

February 26th, 2018

It was another beautiful day here in Colorado!!

My dad and brother both had to work today, so I mostly hung out with my mom. But of course I had to run first. πŸ˜‰

Breakfast, because I was too lazy to make Manything. πŸ˜‰

So McIntosh Lake is basically across the street from my parents’ apartment and it’s got a gravel trail that goes all the way around it, so that’s where I ran today. Well, it was more of a run/walk/slipping/sliding kinda thing. It was around 42 degrees and all of the snow was melting, pretty packed down and icy. So that made things a little bit difficult. Plus the elevation is killer! Haha remember I’ve lived in the Midwest my whole life. πŸ˜‰ I was pretty wiped out after the 3 miles I did, but the views of Longs Peak definitely made it worth it!

After that fun adventure I showered, made some grits (oh man it’s been a while since I’ve eaten grits haha), napped for a little bit (haha the elevation seriously wears me out!), and then took the dogs out for a little bit.

Later in the afternoon my dad and brother got home so we hung out for a little bit and then my mom and I went to Walmart. Fun times haha.

But yeah, that’s pretty much all we did today.

Happy Monday from Longmont Colorado!

Weekly Recap: February 19th-25th, 2018

No weekly recap from last week because last week was pretty boring haha. Spent a lot of time resting and icing my toe, hoping that it would heal quickly. Luckily all of that resting seemed to pay off! My toe has been feeling a lot better and I’ve been able to walk on it a lot better. It seems to get a little bit better everyday. πŸ™‚

  • 25 minutes of strength training
  • 30 minutes on the stationary bike

Was finally able to take Lily for a walk on Monday! πŸ™‚ Haha poor Lily, it’s been almost 2 weeks since she’s been on a walk. Dean and Finn don’t mind, they like to spend most of their time in the backyard running around, chasing each other, and barking at squirrels. But Lily has separation anxiety and wont do that. So she’s been quite worked up since she’s been just as stuck inside as I have. But we fixed that on Monday. πŸ™‚ Followed up our walk with some strength work and time on my stationary bike.

  • Rest Day

Monday started out at around 67 degrees with thunderstorms in the forecast. But all the the temperature dropped and by Tuesday the thunderstorms had turned into ice and snow. That was kind of interesting! I’ve seen a thunder snow before (which is just a snow storm with thunder and lighting), but Tuesday was the first time I’d ever seen an ice storm with thunder and lighting. That’s the Midwest for you, I suppose haha.

So thanks to all of the ice and the little bit of snow on the ground, Luke couldn’t make it to work. He tried, but the roads were terrible and our car doesn’t have heat so the ice that was still coming down was freezing to his windshield, so he could hardly see. He didn’t make it very far before he had to turn around and come home. So we used that as an opportunity to hang out all day, cuddled up on the couch with all three dogs and both cats, and playing video games, and watching YouTube videos and finishing an anime series that we’d started at some point a week or so ago. It was nice! πŸ™‚

My sweet boys Dean and Finn are best friends. ❀

  • 30 minutes of strength work
  • 30 minutes on the stationary bike
  • 20 minutes of yoga

By Wednesday my toe was feeling good enough for me to want to experiment with running on it! But the roads were still pretty icy from the ice storm on Tuesday and I definitely didn’t want to aggravate the injury by running on ice. So I decided to work on my biggest weakness instead; my upper body. Mainly my arms. They’re kind of pathetically weak haha. So I did about 30 minutes of body weight exercises with them and with a little bit of ab work thrown in just for fun. πŸ˜‰ Followed that up with some time on my stationary bike and then did a little bit of yoga in the afternoon.

  • 2.5 miles
  • 20 minutes of stretching/foam rolling

Hi my name is Ashley and I’m really good at making really bad decisions. Like attempting to run 2.5 miles on a probably broken toe on roads that were covered in black ice. Like I said, my toe is feeling a lot better, but running on ice still seems like a bad idea. But they had salted the roads at least twice by Thursday morning so how bad could they really be, right? Crazy icy. Super slippery. That’s the answer to that question haha. Lots of slipping, sliding, and walking happened. Oh and lots of laughing too, because the whole situation was just hilarious and I thought it was great. πŸ™‚

  • 45 minutes on the stationary bike

Yesterday Luke’s sister and her oldest son came to Kansas from Oklahoma to see a concert in Kansas City. So before they went to their show we all went out to dinner along with Luke’ brother, his brother’s girlfriend and her kids (who we just met for the very first time last night). We all ended up having a lot of fun! We don’t really get to see Luke’s sister or her kids (she also has 2 younger kids she didn’t have with her). The last time we got to hang out was during our family trip last summer, so it was nice to see them and hang out for a little bit! And meeting my brother-in-laws girlfriend and her kids was nice as well. Her kids are very sweet and she seems really nice. Haha But anyway, long periods of social interaction with big groups of people wear me out! I’m kind of an introvert by nature so that’s pretty typical. So on Friday I kind of needed to rest and recharge. Plus I’m still not so sure about my whole toe situation, so I kinda figured running two days in a row probably wasn’t a great idea, so I stuck with my stationary bike instead. 😊

  • travel day

On Saturday I ended up going to Colorado with my dad! We had an eventful day and did some pretty fun stuff. You can read about all of that here. πŸ™‚

  • sight seeing day

My mom, dad, and I spend most of today out sight seeing and doing a bunch of other fun stuff. It’s a lot to post about here, but I’ll talk all about that in another post soon. πŸ˜‰

I hope everyone has had a good week!

Greetings from Colorado!

Weekly Recap: January 29th – February 4th, 2018

So I may or may not have gotten a little bit distraced last night and didn’t get around to posting my weekly recap. Oops.

But in all fairness, I think most American’s were a little bit distracted last night by the big football thing. Haha not gonna lie, I’m not at all interested. I just watch for the commercials. πŸ˜‰

Anyways, lets get on with it then!

  • 4 miles

Kinda really didn’t want to do this run on Monday. It was another windy day and it wasn’t as fun as last Friday’s super windy run. I got it done though!! πŸ™‚

  • 35 minutes on the stationary bike
  • 15 minutes of strength work

Bleh. Spending time on the stationary bike is definitely not my idea of fun. But it’s probably good that I do. And obviously strenght training is always a good idea! Haha I definitely need to spend more time doing it, but a little something is better than nothing! πŸ˜‰

  • 2 miles

My legs and abs were feeling kinda sore on Wednesday. So obviously that means my tiny bit of strength work did something on Tuesday! πŸ˜‰ Haha sore muscles sure didn’t stop me from turning what was supposed to be an easy run into something that might have been just a little too hard. For the most part I kept the first mile pretty easy, but then my music app crashed, I turned on American Idiot, Jesus of Suburbia came on, and I ran harder for most of the second mile, and ended up negative splitting for the first time in a while (at least I think it’s been a while. Honestly I really haven’t been paying attention to that haha. Oh man, this turned out to be a really fun run. πŸ™‚

  • 35 minutes on the stationary bike
  • 15 minutes of yoga

Hahah was not feeling it on Thursday. I mostly just couldn’t focus on one tasks for any amount of time. Meh, whatever. I still got a little bit done. πŸ™‚

  • Grocery day
  • Took the dogs to the park

I couldn’t in my right mind call Friday a rest day haha. Not with all of the running around and shopping that Luke and I did. Not gonna lie though, grocery shopping day is my favorite day haha. Who doesn’t like obtaining food?!? After that adventure was done and over with we took the dogs to the off leash dog park and let them run around for a while. They definitely enjoyed that. Anyway, Friday was more like a day off running than an actual rest day. It was fun though. πŸ™‚

  • 7 miles

I think this run just might have been the longest I’ve done since I ran my last half marathon back in November. Oops… Surprisingly enough though, it actually went pretty well!! I was initially having fun, fueled by Honey Stinger, compressed by Zensah, of course. πŸ˜‰ But then it started getting really windy, and I’m not a fan of the wind haha. Especially the really strong gusts that can make breathing difficult. So I ended up with 7 miles instead of the 8 I had originally planned on doing, but I’m not to worried about that. It was still a pretty good run.

  • Rest Day

I was feeling kinda bleh on Sunday. That had me a little bit worried for a little bit, because I’ve heard about some kind of awful stomach bug that’s going around and I DO NOT WANT IT!!!! Apparently it involves lots of fluids coming out of both ends. Obviously neither of those things would be fun, but I hate vomiting more than pretty much anything I can think of. It’s the absolute worst in my opinion and I will make myself even more miserable by fighting it for as long as I can. Yeah, that usually doesn’t go well for me, but I hate puking… Luckily neither Luke or myself have gotten that bug though, so hopefully we’ll remain healthy until that thing blows over.

Anyway, Sunday was also the “big game” day football thing. Not gonna lie. I hate football. I don’t understand football. I think football is boring. Haha this tweet sums up my night quite nicely though. And Michelob Ultra replied which was kinda neat haha.

Also, probably an unpopular opinion, but I thought the Justin Timberlake halftime show was terrible… Like, what the hell happened to music?!? Why does it have to be some big, grand, crazy performance instead of a musician just preforming their songs… I don’t know man, I don’t get it. And what was with the Prince thing?!? I mean, didn’t at one point Prince say that was exactly the kind of thing he’d never want to happen?? So I feel like that was kinda disrespectful. Whatever…

Plus I don’t think Justin Timberlake that great. Good grief I feel like I must be getting old, complaining about the popular music that kids these days are listening to. But in all fairness, he’s like 10 years older than me, and I very clearly remember theΒ NSYNC/Back Street Boy rivalry thing. I was always more of a Backstreet Boys girl. Haha that’s a lie, I was more of a just getting into rock music, but mostly into Disney movie sound tracks and lots of country music type of girl. But when asked to pick a side, it was always the Backstreet Boys. πŸ˜‰ But anyway, I’m getting waaaaay off topic here. I’ve got nothing else relevant to say about my week. So I’ll end there. With my rant about music haha.

Happy Monday!! I hope you’re not too hungover/stuffed full of chips and dip/disappointed with the outcome of the game this morning! πŸ˜‰

Thursday Things

Ok, first and foremost, I am so super duper stoked about Honey Stinger’s new snack bars!!!!

I’m totally on board with anything to do with nut butter, chocolate, or honey. Put all three of them together and I’m one happy camper! Seriously though, I can’t wait for these to come out! They look soooo good! But the don’t become available until April, so I guess I’ve got a little bit to wait hahaha. But you can check out Honey Stinger’s blog for the rest of the details, if you’re interested. πŸ™‚

I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited about new, healthier snack before. Becoming a runner changes people in weird, awesome ways like that haha.

Anyway, enough about snacks for now. Lets talk about dogs!!

Today is Lily’s birthday! Yay! Our baby turned 8 years old today! πŸ™‚

The birthday girl, this morning! Haha I don’t know if it’s sad or impressive that I’ve made her sit and stay on the porch for photos so often, that at this point she know’s exactly what I want.

Lily is one of the most awesome and special dogs ever! I might be a little bit biased though. πŸ˜‰ But she was my first border collie. The first dog Luke and I ever owned together. Farm bred and raised, she is 35 pounds of pure bad ass. She’s not afraid to stand nose to nose with a 1,000 pound steer. Hell, she actually enjoys it! She’s the only dog I own that has any kind of herding skills/experience. She’s lived on a farm, in what I can only describe as “the hood”, in an apartment, and now in a house in a small town, and has taken it all in stride. She’s also pretty well traveled for a dog! She’s lived in Illinois and Kansas, and has traveled with Luke and I to Missouri, Minnesota, Colorado, and all of the states in between. She’s helped load cattle onto trailers, has climbed a (small) mountain, can track/hunt, has helped raise two puppies, can be trusted around small children (even when they’re taking her bone that she was chewing on away from her), trekked through countless amounts of woods, is a fantastic guard dog, incredibly loyal, and was even the ring bearer in our wedding. Lily is one awesome bitch.

If I could breed her to Finn I totally would. They’d make fantastic puppies. But she’s getting older, Finn’s still too young, and when she was 6 months old she got hit by a car and had her hip broken, and her vet at the time didn’t think she’d be able to give birth without complications. So that kinda sucks. I think a Lily/Finn cross would result in some really great dogs. They both have great instincts, working drive, temperaments, and are both pretty healthy (although if and when the breeding of two dogs happens under my watch I’d make sure to get their hips and eyes checked first. bad hips and eyes are two things that tend to be cause for concern in border collies that you don’t want to be passed on, but that’s a whole thing that I don’t need to worry about right now). But oh well. Lily’s good genetics are just gonna have to end with her. Finn might end up be a different story though. πŸ˜‰

Oh man, my dogs are my pride and joy, and I could talk about them for days on end hahaha. But I’ll stop for now. πŸ™‚

Yup. I’m that crazy dog lady who gets weird looks, because I insist on taking photos like this. BUT LOOK AT HOW CUTE AND SMART AND WELL BEHAVED MY PUPPIES ARE!!!! πŸ˜‰

Anyway, tomorrow is grocery day, and oh boy can I tell! Haha we are kinda running low on pretty much everything as we usually are the day before we go on our shopping adventures. So that means I have to get creative with my meals. So today for lunch I threw together some canned goods (corn, stewed tomatoes, and black beans), fried up a couple eggs, put that all on some brown rice and topped it with some guacamole. Kinda random, but it actually ended up being one of the most delicious lunches I’ve had in a while! Just proves that it definitely pays off to get creative sometimes! πŸ™‚

There’s always at least one border collie under my feet…Today there were two.

Breakfast and dinner definitely weren’t that exciting though! All I had for breakfast was coffee (which I add soy milk, honey, and coconut oil to) and a Honey Stinger waffle. Breakfast of champions right there haha. And dinner is going to be a bowl of boring oatmeal. Not exciting, but hey, I made it work. πŸ™‚ I’m pretty excited about grocery day though. I LOVE grocery shopping haha.

My not-so-exciting breakfast. Bubbles was unimpressed.Β

Haha like 90% of this post has just been me going on about food. But I mean, who doesn’t like food talking about food?!? I know I sure do. Food, dogs, and running. I think that sums up my life quite nicely. πŸ˜‰

Although I didn’t do any running today. My legs are kinda sore and tired from a workout I did on Tuesday. So I gave them a little break and spent some time on my stationary bike instead. Boring. But it got the job done. Followed that up with some stretching and foam rolling and my legs were much happier after that.

Anyways, I suppose that’s all I’ve got for today. I know I don’t really have anything all that exciting going on right now haha. But I’ve got a few things I’m gonna start working towards very soon. I’ve got a 5k coming up in May and I’m actually going to train for it! The only two other 5k’s I’ve ever done I didn’t train for at all. I knew that I could cover the distance and that’s all I cared about. But now I have a time goal in mind and I’m going to need to train specifically to get there! But I’ll talk more about that later. πŸ™‚

For now,

Happy Friday eve!
