October Miles and Goal Check In

Happy Halloween! πŸŽƒπŸ–€

Is anyone doing anything fun tonight?? Originally Luke and I were going to go trick or treating with my brother-in-law, his girlfriend, and her kids. But that kinda fell through, so now we’re just staying home and doing the same old same old. Bummer. But oh well…

Anyway, can you believe it’s the last day of October?!? How the heck are they’re only 2 more months left in 2018?!? I feel like I say this every year, but holy cow this year has flown by! πŸ˜‚ Actually that’s a lie. This summer kinda dragged on a bit, but other than that, the year has really flown by. πŸ˜‰

I’m pretty excited that November is almost here though! November is always a fun and busy month for me, and I have quite a bit to look forward to! For 4 years in a row now I’ve had a half marathon to run in November and obviously this year I have two!! Unfortunately my brother isn’t going to be able to make of for the second one, but my dad still is! Right now he’s planning on coming from Colorado to Kansas on Friday November 9th, so he’ll be able to go with us to my first half of Operation Two Half Marathons In Two Days and spectate with Luke. Then after that we plan on going to the packet pick up for the half we’re running together the next day. 😊 November is also my birthday month. I’ll be turning 27 on the 15th! Probably not going to do anything fun for it, but it’s always exciting to celebrate another trip around the sun. πŸ˜‰ Then of course Thanksgiving is November 22nd. We’ll be traveling to Colorado for that. Then the Christmas season officially begins and so does all of the fun stuff associated with that. 😁 November is always a fun month.

Anyway, did onto my monthly miles and goal check in!

90.60 miles run in October! Nice!!! πŸπŸ‚πŸ•ΈπŸ¦‡β˜ οΈ

Hahaha I’m too lazy to actually look it up on Garmin Connect, but I’m pretty sure this is the highest mileage month I’ve ever done. Neat!! And I did it all without getting injured! Even more neat!! Haha and pretty dark impressive considering I’m the most injury prone, klutzy person I know. πŸ˜‚ But that alone makes me feel like October was a very successful month and that I’ve accomplished quite a bit. Especially since running more miles was one of my biggest goals for the year. 😁

As for my other goals, well, still not journaling. Oops. I’ve got nothing more to say about that really…

But I did do alright with getting my step goal in! I mean, I kinda got off to a rough start, but eventually got my shit together and started hitting it more often. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜

Anyway, I guess that just about covers my monthly mileage and goals. So I’ll leave you with a few more fall/Halloween type photos! I’ve kinda taken an excessive amount lately, but this is the first fall in several years that actually FELT like fall starting in October. It’s been wonderful!

Weekly Recap: October 22nd-28th, 2018

This is it! Peak week is officially done! Bring on the taper!!!

Haha I’ve been really dreading my taper. I think mostly because the past few weeks have been a lot of fun and I don’t want it to end! And I’m not sure what I’m going to do with myself after my two half marathons in two days challenge is over. Usually I like to have a plan on what’s coming after a big goal like this (even if it’s just a small plan or goal). I guess I’d better come up with something soon! πŸ˜‚

Anyway, peak week went pretty smoothly! Here’s what went down;

Monday:

    3 easy miles
    10 minutes of yoga

Ok, so for the most part things did go really well this week, but on Monday I wasn’t feeling it. Or much of anything really. πŸ˜‚ I went out and did my planned run though. I should have done some more yoga or at least thrown in some foam rolling, but meh, wasn’t feeling it. Haha at least I did a little something something though. πŸ˜‰

Tuesday:

  • 4 miles, interval work

Holy cow this was a fantastic run! I had so much fun!! Don’t get me wrong, I still put in a lot of work though. But even so, I still managed to take lots of photos of the beautiful fall foliage (although a lot of them turned out slightly blurry πŸ˜‚). All the trees are starting to turn all sorts of pretty colors. It’s great!

Anyway, I had planned on doing some strength work as well, but then I got kinda busy deep cleaning the bathroom, walking dogs, and baby sitting my neighbor’s kid. But my run was fantastic so I’d say my whole day was pretty fantastic! πŸ˜„

Wednesday:

  • 3 miles
  • 15 minutes of Pilates

Yet another gorgeous day on Wednesday! Actually this whole week has just been amazing, in regards to the weather! All week I’ve been watching the subtle changes in all of the fall foliage during my runs. It’s been wonderful! This has definitely been one of the most colorful falls we’ve had in several years, so I’ve been doing my best to soak it all in. I’ve taken about a bazillion photos in the process of soaking it all in haha. πŸπŸ‚πŸ–€

Thursday:

  • rest day

Thursday was supposed to be a cross train day but it ended up as a rest day. I had some kind of rash/allergic reaction to something (I think it might have been something in a bottle of apple cider we had. It only happened after I drank it and never came back since I’ve stopped drinking it). So I was not feeling too great. Plus I was just kinda tired in general haha. But I suppose one should be feeling a little bit tired during their peak week. πŸ˜‰

Anyway, Whiskey got her first ever bath on Thursday. She was not a fan… Haha but luckily she got over it very quickly and still wanted to be my friend afterwards. πŸ˜‰

Friday:Β 

  • rest day

Another rest day, yay! Hahaha and this one was actually planned! πŸ˜‰

Luke and I spent the morning getting groceries and running some errands. After that we hung out at home for the rest of the day. We played with the dogs in the backyard for a little while and messed with the chickens, and then our 4 year old neighbor came over so we hung out with her for a while and then had a little pizza party because everyone was hungry but Luke and I didn’t feel like cooking. πŸ˜‚ It was a good time. πŸ™‚

Saturday:

  • 10 miles

Alrighty! This weekended brought the real fun stuff! The plan was to do a long run on Saturday and then another long-ish run on Sunday and to get to the highest mileage I’ve ever done two days in a row. Fun stuff, man!

I accomplished Saturday’s run with out any issues. I was feeling kinda tired though and I didn’t feel as great as I would have liked to for this run. It was slow slow slow going. But hey, at least I did it! And I didn’t get chased by any obnoxious dogs! That’s always a nice bonus hahahaha. 🀣🀣🀣

So I’m sure a bunch of people were out doing lots of fun, spooky things on Saturday night, since it’s Halloween weekend. If you did I hope you had lots of fun!! Haha but since Luke had to work in the morning and I had another run to do, we stayed home and carved our pumpkins instead. That was the extent of our spooky activities for the day, but it was a lot of fun.πŸŽƒπŸ–€

Sunday:

  • 7 miles

Getting out of bed this morning was a little bit of a struggle. Then the first 3 ish miles of this run were HARD. But after that things started feeling a lot better! Slow, but still, better. πŸ™‚

Now my legs are very tired. Actually, all of me is very tired haha. But honestly I feel really good! I’ve made it through almost an entire training cycle with out getting injured *knock on wood*. I’ve managed to up my mileage, not a lot or as much as I would have liked, but still, I’m making progress and moving forward and that’s really really cool!

Now it’s time to taper and in two weeks I get to see what I can do and accomplish during my two half marathons! I’m pretty excited!! πŸ™‚

Total Weekly Mileage:

Now, I can’t say with any certainty that this is the most mileage I’ve ever run in a week (I guess I could go check on Garmin Connect, but I’m too lazy to do that. πŸ˜‰ ), but it’s definitively up there! It’s looking like I’m going to go over 90 miles for the month which is super cool and something I know I’ve never done before! This training cycle has been full of new things and I think that’s just super awesome! At this point in my running life I’m pretty comfortable with the half marathon distance, and while I’m still learning about racing andΒ reallyΒ pushing yourself, I’m still comfortable enough to start trying some new things. I’m not sure how the training I’ve done this time around is going to end up affecting me come race day, but I’m pretty confident that I’m going to be able to finish my back to back half marathons without dying haha.

Anyway, taper time is here and I’m going to do my best to embrace it!

Thursday Things

Happy Thursday everyone, and welcome to another edition of me rambling on about things that are going on in my life! πŸ˜‰

Okey dokey, this Thursday has been quite eventful! So let’s just start with the very first thing that I experienced today and the one thing that is a slight bummer; my big, Brahma chicken Jethro is definitely a male. I’ve been kinda suspicious about it for a while, but he started crowing today and that pretty much confirms what I basically already knew… And the reason that’s a bummer is that he wasn’t supposed to be male. The hatchery we got them from sexes them, but obviously accidents happen and we just got unlucky. So unfortunately Jethro might have to die. We just can’t have a rooster. Roosters tend to be kind of loud. Plus we don’t want any fertilized eggs. Obviously we’d gather them everyday, so the likely hood of ending up with chicks would be super small.Β  But still…So yeah, bummer.

Haha but go figure the most friendly and social chicken is a male. Usually roosters are giant assholes. They can get crazy aggressive and will attack people. A lot of my dad’s roosters did. Have you ever been stabbed by the little spur things some breeds of roosters get on the back of their legs? Because I have and it’s not pleasant. πŸ˜‚ But Jethro is a different breed than those chickens were, so that might be why he’s not so aggressive. Plus he’s still pretty young so that could be it too.

So all morning I’ve been texting my dad and husband about what the best course of action would be. Luke seems to be a bit on the fence about it, but my dad and I think butchering him and having him for dinner is the best course of action. Especially since he is still young, so his meat will be nice and tender. The only problem is that can get really messy and we have neighborhood children to consider. Back when we lived on a farm we would just chop their heads off. I suppose that’s a bit graphic, but it’s effective. So I’ve looked into ways that involve less mess and I’ve found one that I like. But for now, Jethro’s fate is still undecided.

Since I was dealing with that this morning I ended up getting out a little later for my run. Not a big deal though, because the weather has been crazy nice! We literally just switched from summer to fall over the course of a few days and it’s been fantastic!!! The last couple of years we’ve had super warm falls and the weather would kind of switch back and forth from being cold to warm, but always staying more to the warmer side, but so far that hasn’t happened yet! I’m really hoping for a cold fall and winter! It feels like FOREVER since we’ve had them or a decent amount of snow.

Anyway, I’ve definitely been enjoying the nice weather! The only problem is that I get a little bit too excited and then end up going to hard. And that’s what I did today. πŸ˜‚ The plan was to do 3 easy miles to loosen up my sore legs, but that didn’t happen! I mean, the 3 miles did, but not the easy part. It was fun though. 😊

Once I got back from my run I had a huge ass box waiting for me on my front porch! Earlier this week my mother-in-law was going through all of her Halloween stuff because she’s trying to down size, so she sent me a bunch of it! She sent me some super cool stuff and I’m very stoked, so of course I had to start decorating today. πŸŽƒπŸ¦‡πŸπŸ–€

I started inside the house. This is actually the first year we’ve had indoor Halloween decor so that pretty freaking sweet!

Once Luke got home we moved onto the front yard. He set up a little cemetery with skeleton flamingos and I hung up all of the fake spiders/spider webs. We haven’t hung up the ghosts, bats, or lights yet though. Luke wants to pick up a few more things and then we’re gonna finish decorating the yard tomorrow. I’m pretty excited with how everything is looking and I’m definitely looking forward to getting a few new spooky things!!

Luke’s mom also sent him a super spiffy Michael Myers mask. How sweet is that?! We want to build a scarecrow, get a mannequin head thing, put the mask on it and then use it for the head. How cool would that be?!

While we were out decorating we had Lily and Dean hanging out in the front yard with us. Finn is still too young and excitable to have that privilege, but he’ll get there before too long. πŸ™‚ I very much enjoy the fact that we’ve taken the time to train them and can now trust them to hang out in the front yard like this. A lot of people around here don’t and just let their dogs run around in the street or chase people and it’s super annoying. I get chased by dogs while I’m running all of the time and it’s no fun. But this is an example of a proper way to do it. My dogs are trained to stay in the yard. They don’t chase after people, cars, or other dogs. They can sit, stay, down, and come immediately. And the one who could potentially be a problem is kept inside or in the fenced in backyard. It’s not that difficult and I can’t even begin to fathom why the loose dog problem in my neighborhood is so freaking bad…but oh well. It’s not my dogs that are an issue.

Alrighty, I guess that’s all for today! Tomorrow is a rest day for me, which is good because we’ve got errands to run and then more decorating to do! And then on Saturday I’ve got a 13 mile long run on the scheduled. That should be fun!

Halloween Playlist 2017

It’s that time of year again!!! Time to break out my Halloween playlist!

So if you’ve been following my blog for a while, you probably know I take my running playlistsΒ veryΒ seriously. πŸ˜‰ But to be honest with you, I haven’t really been making very many playlists for running lately. I’ve been in a very “I have to listen to the WHOLE album” kinda mood for a while now. And if I don’t feel like doing that, I just find a playlist on the RockMyRun app that seems intriguing and listen to that. But there are two times during the year that I absolutely have to make my own playlists; the beginning of spring and Halloween season! Haha and in my opinion, the Halloween season starts in September and I may or may not have been listening to this playlist since then. πŸ˜‰ But hey, if the Christmas season can basically start in November I feel like Halloween can have two whole months too!

So my Halloween playlist is pretty much the same thing every year, I just keep adding new songs to it. But that totally works for me! I mean, I only listen to this playlist for a two-ish months every year so I don’t exactly get bored with it and I like super long playlists so I can just shuffle it and it will end up being different every time.

Friday Fives: Reasons Why I’m Super Duper Excited About Fall

All right, all right, I know that most of you guys probably know that I absolute love everything about fall (and winter, but lets focus one one season at a time πŸ˜‰ ). But I can’t help it! I am a cold weather person, I do not do well in the heat/summer time, and lets be honest, October through December is pretty much the most exciting and beautiful time of year!! πŸ™‚

1.Β Fall RunningΒ 

I guess this may be a bit obvious, but hey, this is a running blog after all! And besides, fall is probably the best season for running! The temperature is usually pretty close to perfect, the scenery is beautiful, there are an abundance of races, you don’t have to wake up super early to hit the road before the sun comes up, getting to see everyone’s Halloween decorations, being able to drink a nice warm drink when you get home, I could probably go on an on and on haha.

Now unfortunately I’m still injured and unable to do much running right now, but I’m still dreaming about long, tough, beautiful autumn runs.

2. Halloween!!Β 

I mean come on, who doesn’t love Halloween? You get to dress up, watch scary movies, and eat obscene amounts of candy. What’s not to love? πŸ˜‰ Oh and not to mention all of the fun, Halloween themed races that I swear one day I’m going to participate in.

3. PumpkinΒ Picking Adventures

Luke and I kind of have this tradition of going pumpkin picking. We’ve done it every year since we’ve moved to Kansas. Hahaha I think it’s so much fun and just about the best thing ever to search through a field for the perfect pumpkin, picking it yourself, and then taking it home and carving it. Unfortunately for Luke, he doesn’t find any of that as enthralling as I do, but he puts up with it because he knows it makes me happy.

4. Fall Food

Chili, baked apples, homemade applesauce, soups, squash, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin EVERYTHING! Oh and not to mention every food ever served at Thanksgiving ever (well, exept for things that contain pecans. I hate pecans haha πŸ˜‰ )! I think it’s all great haha! It seems like both Luke and I get into a super duper cooking mood once fall rolls around, so we always end up making lots of super yummy stuff! Fresh squash soups, chili with our home grown tomatoes and peppers, pies, cookies, bread, and anything that involves pumpkin, both Luke and I end up making from scratch, It’s lots of fun!! πŸ™‚

Last year we went apple picking and ended up with a piss ton of apples, so we made applesauce! Here’s the recipe if you’re interested!

5. Fall FoliageΒ

Fall Is Almost Here, Two Short Runs, An Injury Update, Compression Gear, and Another Furry Friend

First and foremost, #ThrowbackThursday anyone? πŸ˜‰ Ah man, throwback Thursday never ceases to amuse me. I just think it’s fun to take a look back at past life experiences, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant they might be.

So, since fall is almost here and I’m so super duper excited about that, I went perusing through the camera roll on my phone this morning looking for the photos of my jack-o-lanterns from last year, because they were pretty darn spiffy if you ask me!!

 

 

 

I was so super excited about how the 13.1 pumpkin turned out! I was kinda worried about it because I thought it was going to be hard to tell what it was, but once it was lit up it looked pretty good! And look at all the hair I used to have!! Haha not gonna lie, looking back I kinda regret cutting it all off. But it was sooo much nicer not having to deal with all of that hot hair over the summer. But anyways, now I’ve got to figure out what I want to do with this years pumpkins! Haha obviously I’ve still got some time, but I take this stuff very seriously! πŸ˜‰ We’re starting to get close to my favorite time of year and I’m so super stoked!!

TRUE!!!!!

So now that we’re into the middle of September we’re starting to experience a bit of fall like weather in the morning/evening. The highs in the afternoon have been in the 80’s though so that still kinda sucks, but we’ll get to the colder weather eventually. πŸ™‚ But anyways, the nice weather in the morning is really reallyΒ reallyΒ making me miss running. Fall running is the best running (except once winter rolls around, then I’ll spend all season telling you that winter running is the best πŸ˜‰ ) and right now I definitely feel like I’m missing out!!

I have managed to do two very short runs this week. 2 miles on Monday and 2 more miles on Wednesday. That’s definitely not the kind of running I should be doing considering that I’m supposed to be training for my 3rd half marathon, but at the moment it’s the only kind of running I can do. And it’s still totally better than not running at all!!

 

 

 

Unfortunately the 4 miles that I’ve run this week were not pain free miles. During both runs my knee started to ache a bit during the second mile and on Wednesday I felt it a little bit in my shin as well. That was no bueno…but it’s still not as bad as it was last month and I like to think it’s finally starting to get better. Healing this whole situation has definitely been a slow process, but I’m glad that it seems to be getting better without the help of a doctor. Because IΒ reallyΒ didn’t want to have to go see one haha.

So I think I’ve mentioned before that I’ve been taking R.I.C.E. (rest, ice, compression, elevation) very seriously in order to get this thing taken care of. Obviously the rest has come in the form of not running, but I’ve also been trying to take it easy and walk a little less if it starts bothering me. I was icing it for a while but that doesn’t seem to be doing anything for it anymore. And honestly I’m pretty sure icing is really only effective for the first like, 48 hours or something like that after you’ve been injured (I’m not entirely sure about that though, so don’t quote me on it. πŸ˜‰ ). So that brings me to compression and elevation. As far as elevation goes, I’ve just been propping my leg up with a pillow in the evening whenever i’m sitting down watching TV, but my compression game has definitely been VERY strong!

So Luke’s just as determined to get me healthy again as quickly as possible so he’s been making me experiment with some new gear haha. First he got me the knee sleeve pictured above. Oh boy does that thing work! I didn’t realize that my knee was actually hurting while I was walking until I started wearing this thing around haha (this right here is why I have to be super careful when it comes to injures. I have a ridiculous pain tolerance and sometimes I don’t notice that anythings going on until after it goes away and I start feeling normal again…). And after wearing it for about a week I was able to do my two short runs this week, which was obviously a huge improvement over not being able to run at all. πŸ™‚ So because I had quite a bit of success with the knee brace, Luke thought hey, if a little bit of compression worked, why not go with EVEN MORE compression. So he came home with a pair of full on compression tights for me the other day haha. I kinda wish he hadn’t spent so much money on me for this stuff, compression gear (especially these tights, holy shit) isn’t cheap…but I mean, they are some super spiffy looking tights. πŸ™‚

I’ve only worn them once, so at this point there’s really no telling if they made a difference, but they’re still super spiffy. πŸ™‚

So all of that actually came about because I had ordered myself a new pair of Zensah compression calf sleeves (like I said, my compression socks are really old, and I’ve had to cut the toes off of both pairs that I have because they make my toes uncomfortable, so I figured sleeves were the way to go. πŸ˜‰ ) and a sports bra at some point last week, I think? The only problem with that is that Zensah’s warehouse is located in southern Florida so they had to close up shop and evacuate because of hurricane Irma, so I guess they’re not entirely sure when they’ll be able to ship out anything. And like, obviously that’s totally understandable and I don’t mind waiting, but Luke is not a patient person and apparently that applies to me as well, and that’s how I ended up with even more compression gear hahahahaha.

 

 

So like, I know compression gear is one of those things that some people absolutely swear by and other people just think is a placebo kinda thing, but it’s always seemed to work for me so I’m just gonna roll with it! πŸ™‚

Whew, alrighty then! Last on my agenda of this to talk about today is our newest furry friend! Everyone, meet Alfred!

So kind of on a whim I guess, Luke decided that our other ferret, Bruce, needed a friend. So he went and got him one last night. Hahaha if you haven’t noticed, once Luke sets his mind on something he just goes and does it. And that’s how we ended up with another ferret. It’s really funny because everyone thinks all of the animals were my idea (because I’m the huge animal lover who was raised on a farm), but aside from the cats and Lily, Luke’s the one who went out and got the rest of them haha. I mean, I’m not complaining though. πŸ˜‰

At first we were both a little wary about introducing them to each other. Luckily we have two ferret cages so if it didn’t go well we could have kept them separate, but it looks like that’s not going to be a problem. They pretty much liked each other right off the bat and are already becoming fast friends. So I guess Luke was right, getting Bruce a friend was a good idea. And I mean, what good is Bruce Wayne without Alfred Pennyworth? πŸ˜‰

HMT Day 99, Halloween, Honey Stinger, and October Miles

Alright, I’ve got quite a bit to talk about today so I’m just gonna jump right in.

I suppose technically my taper was really supposed to kick into high gear today, although I unintentionally started that last week by only running a total of 8.58 miles. Oops. That was a huuuge drop from the week before that too, I ran 24.11 miles that week and had a lot of fun doing it. At the very least I’m glad I did get all those miles in and a little (well, a lot really) of extra rest probably wont hurt me at this point.

Anyway, started this week off/ended this month with an “easy” 3 miler. Definitely wasn’t as easy as it should have been though. I’m still feeling kinda “bleh” about the whole running thing, although I think I’m finally coming out the other side of this slump I’ve been in. I didn’t want to get out of bed this morning, didn’t feel like making breakfast, and definitely didn’t feel like running, but I turned on my Halloween playlist which got me motivated to get my shit together, and then I did feel a lot better once I started running.

This is my “I’m to lazy to actually make breakfast” breakfast.

I actually felt like finishing my run this morning, which is a huge improvement from last week. I think I cut all of my runs short and I only ran three times, so yeah… The only problem I really had was that my legs wanted to speed up but the rest of me was like “what the heck are you doing?!?” So I ended up going out too fast, and going up a few hills too fast, and then ended up walking up some hills because this was supposed to be an easy run, and for whatever reason I couldn’t seem to go easy up them. I suppose that’s not too bad of a problem to have, but I didn’t want to completely wear myself out. I mean, I have an interval workout tomorrow and I want that to be able to do that without feeling like I’m going to die.

So with this morning’s run, my total mileage for the month of October comes to a grand total of 82.63. I’m pretty sure this is the highest mileage month I’ve ever had, so that’s pretty exciting! I’m thinking that may have something to do with why I felt so shitty last week.

In September I only ran 36.68 miles, but I did have to take a week off, and then kinda ease back into things because of the whole toe indecent, and in August I only made it to 55.15 miles. So I hardcore upped my running game in October, but it wasn’t exactly intentional. I did two 10 milers and one 12 mile long run this month so those definitely added a lot to my total monthly miles. Plus aside from last week, I’ve felt really good this month and I guess this pretty much proves that.

At this point you’ve probably noticed that I’ve been running through a cemetery. I’ve actually done that a few times now this month, because ’tis the season, right? Haha I’m actually not sure about the protocol to this kinda thing. Like I don’t know if I’m aloud to be there, let alone running through there, but I’m quite and respectful, and it’s not a private cemetery or anything, so I don’t see why it would be an issue.

Since today is Halloween I wanted to run through there one more time, because like I said, ’tis the season! Plus it’s its a really old cemetery so there are graves dating back to the 1800’s, a few unknown soldier, and the town’s sheriffs graves are marked with stars that look like your typical sheriff’s badge, and I think that’s all really neat! I figure I should probably stay away during the holiday season though. I don’t want to bother anyone, and I know a lot of people like to visit their relative’s graves around the holidays.

I’ve said it before and I’ll probably say it a million more times before it’s over, October through January is the best part of the year!

We aren’t really doing anything all that exciting for Halloween though. I didn’t get to do any fun Halloween themed runs this year which is kind of a bummer, but oh well, and Luke and I aren’t exactly the party type, so we didn’t/don’t have any parties to go to. I’m ok with that though. We’ve had a lot of fun decorating the house, carving pumpkins, and handing out candy to the neighborhood kids is actually a lot of fun! I can’t wait to see what fun monsters and characters show up at our door tonight! I’m especially excited to see our little next door neighbor. She’s 3 years old and likes to hang out with us and play with our rabbits and dogs, so I’m sure she’ll be excited to show us her costume. πŸ™‚

Okey dokey then, I think I’ve finally made it to the last thing I wanted to talk about! I know I usually don’t write posts this long, so if you’ve made it this far, thanks for sticking with me!

I’ve got some super exciting news to share with you! If you keep up with me on Instagram you’ve already seen this, so I apologize for being repetitive, but I didn’t want to include this in any of my pity party posts. Anyway, I’ve been accepted into the 2017 Hive Ambassador Program!!!!!

Honey Stinger waffles have become my go-to fuel for my long runs and hard workouts (and they make a nice little pre-run breakfast when I’m too lazy to cook πŸ˜‰ ), so I’m super excited to be representing a company that makes a product that I love. Seriously, I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am!! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
