Fall Is Almost Here, Two Short Runs, An Injury Update, Compression Gear, and Another Furry Friend

First and foremost, #ThrowbackThursday anyone? πŸ˜‰ Ah man, throwback Thursday never ceases to amuse me. I just think it’s fun to take a look back at past life experiences, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant they might be.

So, since fall is almost here and I’m so super duper excited about that, I went perusing through the camera roll on my phone this morning looking for the photos of my jack-o-lanterns from last year, because they were pretty darn spiffy if you ask me!!

I was so super excited about how the 13.1 pumpkin turned out! I was kinda worried about it because I thought it was going to be hard to tell what it was, but once it was lit up it looked pretty good! And look at all the hair I used to have!! Haha not gonna lie, looking back I kinda regret cutting it all off. But it was sooo much nicer not having to deal with all of that hot hair over the summer. But anyways, now I’ve got to figure out what I want to do with this years pumpkins! Haha obviously I’ve still got some time, but I take this stuff very seriously! πŸ˜‰ We’re starting to get close to my favorite time of year and I’m so super stoked!!

TRUE!!!!!

So now that we’re into the middle of September we’re starting to experience a bit of fall like weather in the morning/evening. The highs in the afternoon have been in the 80’s though so that still kinda sucks, but we’ll get to the colder weather eventually. πŸ™‚ But anyways, the nice weather in the morning is really reallyΒ reallyΒ making me miss running. Fall running is the best running (except once winter rolls around, then I’ll spend all season telling you that winter running is the best πŸ˜‰ ) and right now I definitely feel like I’m missing out!!

I have managed to do two very short runs this week. 2 miles on Monday and 2 more miles on Wednesday. That’s definitely not the kind of running I should be doing considering that I’m supposed to be training for my 3rd half marathon, but at the moment it’s the only kind of running I can do. And it’s still totally better than not running at all!!

Unfortunately the 4 miles that I’ve run this week were not pain free miles. During both runs my knee started to ache a bit during the second mile and on Wednesday I felt it a little bit in my shin as well. That was no bueno…but it’s still not as bad as it was last month and I like to think it’s finally starting to get better. Healing this whole situation has definitely been a slow process, but I’m glad that it seems to be getting better without the help of a doctor. Because IΒ reallyΒ didn’t want to have to go see one haha.

So I think I’ve mentioned before that I’ve been taking R.I.C.E. (rest, ice, compression, elevation) very seriously in order to get this thing taken care of. Obviously the rest has come in the form of not running, but I’ve also been trying to take it easy and walk a little less if it starts bothering me. I was icing it for a while but that doesn’t seem to be doing anything for it anymore. And honestly I’m pretty sure icing is really only effective for the first like, 48 hours or something like that after you’ve been injured (I’m not entirely sure about that though, so don’t quote me on it. πŸ˜‰ ). So that brings me to compression and elevation. As far as elevation goes, I’ve just been propping my leg up with a pillow in the evening whenever i’m sitting down watching TV, but my compression game has definitely been VERY strong!

img_6164

I’m sporting a very old compression sock and a very new compression knee sleeve in this photo.

So Luke’s just as determined to get me healthy again as quickly as possible so he’s been making me experiment with some new gear haha. First he got me the knee sleeve pictured above. Oh boy does that thing work! I didn’t realize that my knee was actually hurting while I was walking until I started wearing this thing around haha (this right here is why I have to be super careful when it comes to injures. I have a ridiculous pain tolerance and sometimes I don’t notice that anythings going on until after it goes away and I start feeling normal again…). And after wearing it for about a week I was able to do my two short runs this week, which was obviously a huge improvement over not being able to run at all. πŸ™‚ So because I had quite a bit of success with the knee brace, Luke thought hey, if a little bit of compression worked, why not go with EVEN MORE compression. So he came home with a pair of full on compression tights for me the other day haha. I kinda wish he hadn’t spent so much money on me for this stuff, compression gear (especially these tights, holy shit) isn’t cheap…but I mean, they are some super spiffy looking tights. πŸ™‚

Processed with Rookie Cam

I’ve only worn them once, so at this point there’s really no telling if they made a difference, but they’re still super spiffy. πŸ™‚

So all of that actually came about because I had ordered myself a new pair of Zensah compression calf sleeves (like I said, my compression socks are really old, and I’ve had to cut the toes off of both pairs that I have because they make my toes uncomfortable, so I figured sleeves were the way to go. πŸ˜‰ ) and a sports bra at some point last week, I think? The only problem with that is that Zensah’s warehouse is located in southern Florida so they had to close up shop and evacuate because of hurricane Irma, so I guess they’re not entirely sure when they’ll be able to ship out anything. And like, obviously that’s totally understandable and I don’t mind waiting, but Luke is not a patient person and apparently that applies to me as well, and that’s how I ended up with even more compression gear hahahahaha.

So like, I know compression gear is one of those things that some people absolutely swear by and other people just think is a placebo kinda thing, but it’s always seemed to work for me so I’m just gonna roll with it! πŸ™‚

Whew, alrighty then! Last on my agenda of this to talk about today is our newest furry friend! Everyone, meet Alfred!

img_6368

So kind of on a whim I guess, Luke decided that our other ferret, Bruce, needed a friend. So he went and got him one last night. Hahaha if you haven’t noticed, once Luke sets his mind on something he just goes and does it. And that’s how we ended up with another ferret. It’s really funny because everyone thinks all of the animals were my idea (because I’m the huge animal lover who was raised on a farm), but aside from the cats and Lily, Luke’s the one who went out and got the rest of them haha. I mean, I’m not complaining though. πŸ˜‰

At first we were both a little wary about introducing them to each other. Luckily we have two ferret cages so if it didn’t go well we could have kept them separate, but it looks like that’s not going to be a problem. They pretty much liked each other right off the bat and are already becoming fast friends. So I guess Luke was right, getting Bruce a friend was a good idea. And I mean, what good is Bruce Wayne without Alfred Pennyworth? πŸ˜‰

img_6385

Okey dokey then! That’s all I’ve got to talk about for today! I’ve been doing a terrible job at keeping up with everyone lately, so what’s going on with you? Are you excited about fall? Any up coming races, spiffy new gear, new furry friends, new PR’s, or are you sidelined with an injury as well?

Anyways, I hope everyone has a happy Friday eve, a great Friday tomorrow, and an even better weekend!

I Am The Happiest Of Campers

Oh man you guys! Green Day was absolutely amazing last night!!! It was a fucking awesome show, the crowd was amazing, and it was an all around great experience! It looked like the band was having just as much fun as the crowd was! And right after the show, Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day’s frontman) got onto Facebook live and talked about how awesome the concert was, how much fun they had, and how great this tour has been. That was pretty awesome!!

Anyway, I’m exhausted emotionally and physically (haha sometimes I forget how much I can relate to some of their songs and how emotionally invested into their music I am.), I feel like I’m hungover even though I didn’t have anything to drink, but I’m still currently riding the high from last night! Haha I feel like those post concert blues are going to hit me at some point. They’re very similar to post race blues, actually. πŸ˜‰ But for now I’m the happiest, physically/mentally battered person you’ll ever meet. Haha I guess that’s pretty similar to finishing a hard race as well!

That’s all I’ve got for now. I’m going to go threw the photos I took, look for better photos on the internet, find the set list from last night (at this point I could tell you want songs they played, but not the exact order haha), gather my thoughts, rest, hydrate, shower, probably run, shower again, an THEN I’ll work on a full recap of the show.

We were kinda far away, so I didn’t get many good photos. But in all fairness, I wasn’t trying very hard haha.

Anyways, I hope your Friday was as amazing as mine was! I’m so happy right now! EVERYTHING IS GREEN DAY AND NOTHING HURTS!!! But if it wasn’t, smile, it’s Saturday! 😁

Holy Hell Hamstrings!!

Hahaha not gonna lie, I only went with that title because alliteration. I believe today is day 12 of half marathon training.

Seriously though, my hamstrings are just totally fucked today. They are tight, sore, and it’s hard to walk. Which is super weird because usually it’s my quads that put me into this situation. They are chronically tight which has caused me hip and shin issues in the past. But that’s a whole other thing, and they’re aren’t giving me any issues at the moment. Well, fingers crossed, but I’ve been making a point to make sure that my quads don’t give me anymore issues haha. But anyway, I feel like my hamstring tightness was caused by my pushing on the uphills yesterday. The half marathon I’m training for is crazy hilly, so I’m trying to focus more on hill work this time around. And at the price of my hamstrings apparently!

So today I was supposed to do an easy 3 miler and I seriously considered just toughing it out and going for it, but eventually I decided that would have just done more harm than good. So I’m switching today and a rest day around. Problem solved! Well hopefully haha.

Now I didn’t just sit around and hope my hamstrings would feel better. πŸ˜‰ This morning I did a few stretches and foam rolled them, my calves, and quads while drinking my coffee and watching Netflix. Not gonna lie, I’ve been on a Netflix bender lately. I’m currently watching Women Behind Bars. Interesting and kinda sad stuff.

Anyway, after I did some stretching and foam rolling my hamstrings felt a bit better so I decided to dye my hair. Haha since it’s such a long process it’s a lot easier to do on a day when I don’t do any kind of workout. Or anything really. It takes a little over 3 hours for the whole process to finish ( an hour and a half for the dye it sit in my roots, an hour and a half for the dye to sit in the rest of my hair, and not to mention the time it takes to apply the dye and then shower). And I don’t exactly like to do much but sit when I have the dye in my hair because I don’t want to get it all over the place. That would really suck.

So while I was sitting with the dye in my hair, my mom called and told me that she and my brother are on their way to Illinois from Colorado and they want to stop at my house on there way there. So obviously I told them that was fine, I just needed to know when they were going to be here because my dad’s dog is with them and Lily and Dean don’t get along with him. Finn’s never met him before and I plan to keep it that way because my dad’s dog is a 120 pound Caucasian Shepard and my dogs are 35-45 pound border collies and any altercations that they might get into wouldn’t end well for them.

But anyway, after the dye was done sitting in my hair I took a nice hot shower to rinse it all out and whatnot. That had definitely helped my hamstring situation. They felt much more relaxed after that. πŸ™‚ Then I just kinda picked up the house and waited for my mom and brother to get here.

They showed up around 3 pm with monster dog Niko and Ace (who is a very good boy) in tow. My poor dogs had to be put up, but it was for there own good. My brother napped for a while and my mom and I just hung out.

Once Lukr got home from work he grilled some hamburgers and we all hung out for a while. I guess my moms decided they’re staying the night so I guess well see how that goes.

Until next time.

Half Marathon Training Day 4

Rest days seem toΒ simultaneously go by really fast and really slow. Like the day just seems to drag on but then I’ll look at the clock at it will be 3 pm and I’ll feel like I’ve accomplished absolutely nothing productive during the day. Haha maybe it’s just that running makes me feel super accomplished!! πŸ˜‰ Honestly though, it’s probably because running has become such a big, ingrained part of my life that when I don’t do it I feel a little off.

That being said, rest is super important! And as much as I’d love to be one of those people who can run 5 miles everyday (seriously, people like that really exist!), but more and more I’m learning that I’m just not lucky enough to be one of those people. I’ve tried streaking several times and it can get pretty hard for me just to keep up with running 1 mile every day. And now that that is something that I’ve become more aware of, it’s also something I’m becoming ok with, if that makes any sense? Like, there have been many days that I feel guilty for taking the day off and resting, and honestly the more I think about it the more I think that’s kinda sad. No one should ever feel bad for taking a break and allowing your body to heal. That’s something that’s kinda super important! Especially when you want to be the very best runner that you can be!

That being said, I did consider doing a few easy miles this morning haha. Mostly because my run on Monday was super disappointing, but when I woke up this morning I was tired, sore, and just felt like all sorts of nope. So instead I did a crazy amount of laundry (I don’t know why I let it pile up so much…), took Lily for a nice long walk, bathed her (Finn got bathed yesterday and Dean’s getting a bath tomorrow πŸ˜‰ ), played with the bunnies for a while, recorded a vlog (which I’ll probably post to vidme tomorrow because I’m feeling too lazy to edit it right now), and then did some reading. Fun times!

So tomorrow’s a cross training day, not so fun times, but since I took today off (like my training plan told me to, I should add) Friday’s fartlek workout should be even more fun! I mean, I already love fartleks and now I should be nice and rested and ready to go! Haha if you couldn’t tell, I’m super stoked about this half marathon training cycle at the moment. I’m sure in a few weeks that wont be the case, as I tend to have a lot of ups and downs about my feelings towards running/training. But I’m super jazzed up right now so I’m totally gonna roll with that and hopefully hang onto that feeling for as long as I can!

But for today I’m enjoying slowing things down, resting, and trying to be optimistic about the mountain of laundry that I have to go deal with now…

Happy Hump Day!

Garmin Fenix 5, Half Marathon Training Day 3, and Other Randomness

Yay last night my amazing husband replaced my Forerunner 235 that I somehow managed to drown in the pool while we were in Florida! RIP Forerunner. You are greatly missed…Haha and that tan line is still there, but it’s not so bright white anymore. πŸ˜‰

16589314-ca96-4b1a-96e6-7078da26fcbe

So anyway, last night Luke and I had to run to the store to pick up a few things that we needed. Mainly dishwasher detergent because we were completely out. Haha isn’t being an adult fun? πŸ˜‰ While we were out Luke basically goes “oh by the way I’m getting you a new Garmin today”. Obviously I was super exited, I’ve been very much missing my Garmin and trying to figure out how to use new apps and dealing with the not so great GPS on my phone was just no fun…but I also new he was fucking up to something, because he’s always up to something when it comes to things like this hahah! And then while we were talking in the car we were kinda messing around and I said something “mean” I guess (I don’t remember what it was, but like I said, we we’re just messing around). So he said something to the effect of “you can’t say that, I’m about to spend $500 on a watch for you!” I immediately responded with “I swear to God, you’d better not get me a Fenix! I was perfectly happy with my Forerunner!” Well he told me that “you got to pick out the last one, now it’s my turn to pick.”

Long story short, I’m now the proud owner of a Fenix 5.

img_5072

I was super duper excited to try it out this morning, but I was Β not super duper excited about waking up at almost 6 am. Especially after going to bed a little late last night. Haha I probably should have woken up an hour earlier, but there was no way that was going to happen. But at the very least, I still slept better last night than I did the night before. πŸ™‚

img_5100

Honestly I really didn’t want to get up at 6, but I had a new toy to try out and I needed to redeem myself from yesterday’s pretty much failed attempt at running, so I got up (very reluctantly), got dressed, drank half a cup of coffee, and got out the door. And any runner know’s that that’s the truly hard part, everything tends to be a lot easier once you step out the door. πŸ˜‰

My half marathon training plan called for a steady 40 minute run today, but that sounded boring and it’s hot and even though I feel A LOT better I’m still getting over the flu, so I wanted to be able to take walking breaks, so I did a slow interval workout instead. πŸ™‚ I had a lot of fun with it and I hit the 5k mark (which was my goal) in 42:33. So pretty slow, but not bad all things considered. Plus since this was the first run with my Fenix I ran 3 new PR’s, because, you know, a new watch automatically resets all of your previous PR’s haha. Yeah, that’s totally how it works. πŸ˜‰

…Ok, not really, but it’s still fun to watch them pop up on the screen. πŸ™‚

img_5094

After my run I checked on the garden. We got quite a bit of rain a few days ago, so the grounds still pretty wet, so I didn’t have to do any watering today. I should have done some weeding, but it was getting hot, and I was already hot and tired from running (and this is why I should have woken up earlier πŸ˜‰ ). Oh well, most everything is still looking really good! One of my cherry tomato plants is looking like it’s not going to make it, but that’ll happen. I’m not too worried about it though, since there are 2 other cherry tomato plants out there. I’ve also got 2 little melons, and a pretty decent sized melon growing on my watermelon vine right now. I’m super excited about those and I can’t wait until they’re ready to pick and to eat!

img_5092

Today’s harvest. πŸ™‚

After harvesting what produce I could, I took Lily for a super short walk, showered, made breakfast, ate, drank the rest of my coffee, and watched the Chasing Coral documentary on Netflix. It was very interesting and I definitely recommended it if you’re ever bored and trying to find something to watch on Netflix. Not gonna lie, it was a little bit depressing to watch, but I think that’s why more people need to watch things like this! We obviously need to change the way we’re going about things in order to save the planet, but I feel like most people (myself included) don’t think about these kinds of things enough, and we just go about with our day to day life without giving out dying planet a single thought, but I digress…

img_5099

While doing all of the above mentioned things, I was perusing Facebook a bit and I saw that the Longview Half’s page had posted this years finisher medal. It’s pretty nifty! Not gonna lie, I think I like last years medal a little bit better, but it’s still not bad. Hahah I still need to actually register for the race. I’ll get to that at some point though…

Anyways, I’ve got quite a bit of stuff that I need to get done around the house now. I also see a nap and some yoga in my very near future. πŸ™‚ I’m hoping that once Luke get’s home this evening we’ll be able to watch Rouge One (which is also on Netflix!!!). I already watched it once a few days ago, but now Luke absolutely has to see it and I’m totally game to watch it again! It was a fantastic movie in my opinion.

Happy Tuesday!!

Thursday Things

Oh man, things definitively took an interesting turn Tuesday/yesterday!

So Tuesday night, Luke subbed on his boss’s softball team. Something he was very happy to do, as he isn’t on his own softball team this year. But in the second inning of the first game (it was a double header) he was trying to slide home but he ended up falling and hitting his head off the ground pretty hard. He said right afterwards he had tunnel vision for a few minutes and was a little bit disoriented. So he told his boss that there was a good chance that he was either going to be late to work on Wednesday or just may not come in at all. And since his boss saw him fall and heard the sound his head made when it hit the ground, he said that was absolutely fine.

So yesterday Luke slept until about 8 am (about 2 hours later than he usually gets up), but when he woke up he was a little bit dizzy. So after a little bit of debate with me (he for real got dressed and ready to go into work) I convinced him to stay home, because I really thought he needed a little bit of rest. But of course Luke is stubborn and couldn’t actually sit at home and rest. We ended up taking Finn to one dog park by himself, then we ran home, grabbed Lily and Dean, and then took all three of them to a different dog park haha. Luckily after walking around a little bit, Luke said he felt a lot better so maybe a little bit of moving around was good for him. πŸ˜‰

img_4950

Finn, Dean, and Lily. My babies are so pretty. πŸ™‚

After our second dog park adventure, we stopped at a Sprout’s, which is about 5 minutes from the dog park (and this dog park is about 30 minutes from our house). Originally just to get lunch, but we also ended up getting walnuts (we haven’t been to a Sprout’s for a while and forgot how great buying stuff in bulk can be hahaha), and water and disposable cups so we could give the dogs water, who we had left in the car. Yes, we did indeed leave the dogs in the car on a hot summer day, but we were also parked in the shade, and left the car running with the air conditioner on full blast. We also didn’t have our spare key, so we had to leave the doors unlocked, but our dogs are all super protective/territorial so we really weren’t worried about it. They were cool, comfortable, would keep the car from being stolen, and we were only in the store for a few minutes anyway.

img_4968

Side note; I tried kombucha for the first time yesterday. Not bad!!

Well whenever we were walking back out to the car, some lady was looking into our car windows, looking all worried, so Luke told me to go run out there before she decided to break a window or call the police. Now, I totally understand why someone would be worried about dogs locked in a car on a hot day if the car wasn’t running. Hell, I’d probably be one of the first people to go help the dogs. But again, OUR CAR WAS RUNNING AND THE AC WAS ON!! Trust me, they were absolutely fine!! And I know for a fact Lily was growling at her from the driver’s seat, and I have a feeling Dean and Finn have been growling at her from the back seat. So I ran up to the car, opened the door and told them they were all being good puppies. The lady didn’t look too happy, but she walked back to her car. Good riddance to her. People are too nosy sometimes, and if she would have tried anything I feel like one of the dogs would have nipped at/bitten her. Oh well, it all ended well, so that’s all that matters. πŸ™‚

Anyway, after all of that we went home, made some pickles, and then spent the rest of the day playing Story Of Seasons on our Nintendo 3DS’s. Good times! Plus I’m very glad that Luke spent several hours sitting and relaxing. πŸ™‚

So that was all yesterday. Today kinda ended up being pretty boring though. πŸ˜‰

I had intended to get up early and do a 5 mile run, but oh man I just couldn’t. I woke up at 5 and I was just so fucking tired (and after looking at my sleep chart thingy I can see why…). So I tried to go back to sleep (but I feel like I kept waking up a little bit), and eventually go up at 7:30. So there’s that, but I’m also crazy sore. Probably because of all of the work in the garden earlier this week. DOMS definitely caught up with me today haha. So today ended up being an impromptu rest day, but there was absolutely no way I running would have went well or have even been a good idea, so I’m not too worried about it. πŸ™‚

img_4982

So I haven’t exactly done much today, but it was nice to take a little break. πŸ™‚ And hopefully I’ll be able to run and have fun while doing it tomorrow morning. Anyway, today I cleaned up the house a little bit, did a some yoga, played some more Story Of Seasons, and that was pretty much it haha.

img_4986

Anyways that’s all I’ve got for today, I suppose. Happy Thursday!

~Ashley

Back To Scheduled Programming!

Well, sorta.

I really wanted to run this morning, especially considering the fact that I only ran once while I was in Florida, but we are currently under a heat advisory that started at 3:00 this morning and the air quality here in Kansas is in the yellow or moderate zone today. Not a good combination for an asthmatic like myself…Plus I spent the whole Florida trip around 2 very heavy smokers and that always ends up giving me trouble. Especially when I have to be around it for an extended period of time. So I decided that running probably wouldn’t be the best idea for me today. Hopefully by tomorrow the heat advisory will be over and my lungs will feel a little bit better, but I guess we shall see.

img_4621

I did still get up relatively early this morning though. My garden is in not so great shape after not being tended to for 10 days. The grass is super high, the weeds are abundant, my zucchini died (sad face), whats left of my lettuce is dying, and everything else just needed watered. Badly. So I did as much weeding as I could (it was starting to get really hot and I was struggling haha, it’s a very good thing I did not run today), watered everything, and tried pulling as much grass as I could. I was going to weed eat it, but my weed eater’s battery was completely dead and it didn’t charge fast enough, so unfortunately I had to leave most of the grass out there super high for today. I should be able to get that all taken care of tomorrow though. And usually I’d have the rabbits out there to help keep the grass mowed down, but I can’t leave them outside when it’s this hot. They would absolutely fry out there. But I did let them eat some grass while I was out there working this morning, I just had to bring them in when I called it a day.

img_4612

My first watermelon of the year!

While I was out there I did pick 10 HUUUGE cucumbers (they sat out there for too long, but surprisingly enough they really aren’t that bitter, which is really weird because they usually are if you let them get too big), my first watermelon of the year (and there are a few more growing out there and I’m so super stoked about that!), and 5 banana peppers. And my tomato plants are covered with some very nice looking green tomatoes, so I’ll be having an abundance of tomatoes very shortly! πŸ™‚ But I’m still super upset about losing my zucchini plant…Zucchini is my favorite. 😦

img_4620

As you can see, I took this photo before I found the rest of the cucumbers. πŸ˜‰

But anyways, I feel a lot better now that I’ve been able to tend to the garden, even if it was just a little bit, but now I really need to get to work on cleaning up the house. It was an absolute disaster when Luke and I got home yesterday. My brother in law’s dog’s hair was everywhere (I swear his dog sheds more than all 3 of mine combined) and that sure didn’t help my whole asthma issue. There were plates and dishes and silverware everywhere, along with some trash. I don’t thing either of our brothers did the dishes while we were gone (there are so many dishes that need done…) and I’m pretty sure they only got the mail once (but I’ll get to that in a second). My brother had brought his cat with him and he pooped all over the house (I also think he peed in a few places but I haven’t quite figured that out yet). And the floor is just covered in mud. It wasn’t a good situation to come home to.

Luckily I did get a lot of that stuff taken care of yesterday while Luke went out to coffee with one of his friends, so really now all I need to do is vacuum again and mop the whole house, clean off the kitchen counter, and do laundry. We have so much laundry haha. But I’m working on it. πŸ™‚

But anyway, I think our brothers only got the mail once, because Luke’s brother brought in an important piece of mail that he’d been waiting on and that got here while we were gone. And my brother brought in a hoodie that I had ordered from Adeline Records (which is a record company that Billie Joe Armstrong, along with a few other musicians started/own) and literally got to the house an hour after we left the house haha. But other than that, there was quite a bit of mail shoved into our mailbox haha. Oh well, Luke and I are just happy that the stuff we had been waiting on got here and then made it into the house safely. πŸ™‚

img_4636

Now I just wish it was actually cold enough to wear my super spiffy new hoodie! But unfortunately it’s going to be a while before that happens.

Anyway, along with the usual bills, news papers, and junk mail, my second ever Stride Box was shoved into our mailbox!

57a5e533-adeb-4e55-a4a7-49ccc4c62d34

Yay! I’m so super excited about StrideBox you guys! Not gonna lie, I’ve always been kinda skeptical about the whole subscription box thing, but StrideBox has definitely won me over in just two months! So far it’s come with some pretty awesome stuff! I especially like the fact that it comes with things that I probably wouldn’t actually buy if I just saw them at the store, so its a great way for me to try out new things, and then if I like whatever it is that I’ve tired I’ll know exactly what it is! And for only $15 a month (and that includes shipping!!) I thing it’s totally worth it and I would definitively recommend any runner to at least check them out. πŸ™‚

Anyway, I guess I need to quit procrastinating and finish cleaning up the house, but first I need to drink my tea out of my fancy, new Florida mug, and maybe read a few articles from this months issue of Runner’s World haha. πŸ˜‰

I hope you’re having a great Tuesday!
