Florida Vacation: Day 3

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธHappy 4th of July!๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

So we had another late start today, but I was one of the people up late this morning so it’s ok haha. Luke and I woke up around 9:30 this morning but we didn’t get out of bed by 10. I guess our beach trip wore us out. Several other people were up and drinking their coffee and just hanging out, so we joined them all talked for a while.

Around 11 am Luke, me, his mom, and her boyfriend went to the grocery store to pick up a birthday cake for Luke’s grandma (her birthday is the 16th, but we’re celebrating it today) and some stuff to grill, because it’s the 4th of July and it’s basically illegal not to grill today. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Luke and I also got some very tasty looking salads. We haven’t exactly been eating well on our vacation and we both agreed that we were in desperate need of some veggies. Haha and we also got an apple pie, because what’s more ‘murican than beer, grilling, fireworks, and apple pie? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Seriously though, this Greek salad was AMAZBALLS!!!

We got home around 12:15 pm, ate our delicious salads, and then jumped in the pool for a while. After putting on a shit ton of sun screen on. Luke and I don’t want to burn before getting our tattoos haha.

Unfortunately the whole pool thing didn’t end well for my Garmin. The screen somehow cracked (I think it got hot in the sun and then getting into the cold pool did it)  and water got in there I guess, so it’s completely broken now. โ˜น๏ธโ˜น๏ธโ˜น๏ธ Haha at the very least I guess my wrist is going to get some sun now, but I’m super sad that my fancy GPS watch is useless now. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Anyway, around 2:30 we all got out of the pool, dried off, got dressed, piled into the bus, and went to a flea market. Flea markets sure are interesting places haha. We saw all sorts of craziness while we were there. Lots of not so legal stuff haha. It’s fun to walk around and look at all of the fun stuff though.

After we were done there we stopped by the store to pick up a few things we needed for our barbecue, and then got home around 6:30 pm. Luke grilled us some hot dogs and hamburgers and we all just hung out and ate by the pool. That was kinda nice.

We were supposed to go hang out at Old Town tonight, but we spent too much time at the store and with dinner (and that’s why we should be waking up earlier and doing these things earlier, but whatever). I guess we’re going to hang out on the porch and watch the fireworks that everyone is shooting off tonight.

Happy Independence Day!

Tuesday Things

Happy Tuesday, y’all!

How was your holiday weekend? Mine was pretty interesting. Interesting, but good. (You can read more about it hereย and here).

I pretty much lived off of junk food over the weekend and I’m totally feeling it now…Saturday was kinda justified though, when you’re ย spending the day helping people move you take what you can get. Especially if they’re paying.

Plus my calorie burn was pretty crazy after running 7.5 miles then being on my feet all day. So you know, I feel like I earned a day of shitty eating.

On Sunday I was just being lazy. I didn’t feel like making food so I ate leftovers from the night before (a greasy, bacon filled grilled cheese sandwich and fries) along with coffee and a bunch of creamer and sugar for breakfast, an icee and M&M’s for lunch, cereal for a snack, and then jelly beans, a few hotdogs, a bratwurst, and a milkshake for dinner.

As for Monday, I definitely ate better. Dinner wasn’t great, but you gotta eat parking lot burgers on the 4th of July. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Don’t even get me started on my water intake…

My poor plant

But enough about the past, lets start talking about the future! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m taking a few days off of running. Maybe even the rest of the week.

Saturday during my run, my foot started to hurt a little again. I honestly don’t think it’s anything too bad, I just tweaked it a bit last week. But I just want to play it safe. Especially ย after all of the injuries and whatnot I was dealing with over the winter.

Plus half marathon training starts later this month (the 24th!!!) and I want to go into that healthy and niggle free!

That should give me some time to focus more on strength training, which as always, I’m horribly lacking at.

I wish I could say I was going into half marathon training feeling strong, but I’m definitely not. Obviously I still have time to work on that. I just need to make it a bigger priority.

So that’s what’s currently on my mind! How are you on this lovely Tuesday? Do you have any upcoming races?? I’d love to hear about it!

Now then, house needs cleaned, the dogs need walked, and there’s Pilates and yoga that need done. But first, that second cup of coffee is calling my name!

ย Happy Independence Day!!

Our whole town has been celebrating all weekend. But I guess that’ll happen when you have 5 fireworks stands set up in a town of only 5,896 people. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We joined in with the festivities last night. Luke grilled hotdogs and brats, and we played with some small fireworks.

For today I think we’re just going to hang out at the house until tonight. Then we’ll probably go see the professional fireworks show. That’s always a good time. ๐Ÿ˜„

Have fun and stay safe out there! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™
