Wow very little running happened this week! Honestly I just haven’t been feeling it. But after several pretty darn good weeks in a row I’ll take one down week!
- Rest day
- 15 minutes of yoga
Holy moly I was TIRED On Monday. Last week was a tough one. I feel like I ran really well and accomplished what I wanted to accomplish as far as running goes, but it was hard. And I literally didn’t want to do anything after I finished every single run last week. But that’s usually how summer running ends up going for me.
But anyway, after two hard week in a row this is more of a down week and I’m hardcore embracing that!! 😊
- 3 miles
Whew I woke up late (7:15) I’m Tuesday. Whoops.
So the sun was up and it was HOT when I got out to run. But on the bright side, I was feeling a lot better after taking Monday off. 😊 3 more miles in the leg bank. 🏃🏻♀️
- Rest Day
Just not feelin’ it in Wednesday. Plus my hip was feeling a little bit weird. Nothing crazy or anything. I think I just tweaked it at some point. Hahaha but either way, maybe the rest day was a good thing because of that. 😉
- 8 miles in the treadmill
- 30 minutes on the stationary bike
My hip was definitely feeling better on Thursday! Hahaha I wasn’t exactly planning on running 8 miles on the treadmill but it just kinda happened. 😂
That’s actually the farthest I’ve ever run on the treadmill! I’m not particularly fond of treadmill running (who is, really? 🤷🏻♀️) so I don’t often spend much time there. But anyway, I talked more about this run here, if you’re interested. 👍🏻

- Several margaritas consumed
Hahaha oh man, it’s been so HOT! We were under a heat advisory from Wednesday to Saturday morning so I just was NOT feeling doing much of anything on Friday. Actually, I feel like the heat had really contributed to my general lethargy this week. 😉
Anyway, Friday night Luke grilled some steak and corn (yum!!) and we made strawberry margaritas! 😋 We used fresh strawberries and a little bit of ice so they had an almost smoothie like consistency and they were AMAZING! I don’t drink very often, and when I do it’s usually beer or wine, I’m not much into hard liquor. But these were super good. 😄😄😄
- Rest Day
Surprisingly I didn’t wake up feeling too terrible after the margaritas Friday night! Apparently the strawberries and ice helped keep me hydrated. 😉
Still didn’t feel like running though. Honestly, this has just been an off week for me running wise. It happens and I decided that I was just going to roll with it. Sometimes it’s good to just take a little step back and relax a little and just enjoy myself. Hence the margaritas on Friday followed by Chinese food on Saturday. 😉
But burnout is a very real thing, and since I’d like to continue running for as long as physically possible I do my best to keep it fun and just kinda go with the flow when it’s not. Or if I’m feeling tired of just feel like I need a little break.
Look at all of those tongues! The dogs aren’t really fond of this heat either!
Another chill day for the most part. Walked some dogs in the morning, then cleaned the house while enjoying one of the best albums ever recorded. 😄
This evening we took Whiskey to a trail and then an off leash dog park for a little bit. It was freaking hot!! 🥵 But I got some of my Gobbler Grind fliers hung up so that’s good. 😊 Hopefully people will see them and use my code!! I guess we’ll see. 😁
So yeah, there ya go! A very non-running filled week. 😂 But, I think next week will be better. I’ve had a week of dealing with the REAL hot and humid weather and I think I’ve some what adjusted to it. Or at least adjusted as much as I’m going to. I’m literally already counting down the days until the Fall Equinox. 🎃 😂
Yeah, fall can’t get here soon enough! 🥵🥵🥵
