Because it’s never too early for fall stuff, right? 😉
Luke and I actually had a really full day yesterday! We went to the Louisburg Cider Mill to pick pumpkins, ran some errands, did some yard work, and hung out with a couple of our neighbors for the rest of the day. It was pretty fun! But we started off our Friday playing with the chickens. Guys, they are just so much fun and so funny. They get super excited anytime they see, well, mostly me, but other people too. But I feed them and take care of them the most, so they know me and know that I mean food. Everyone else is just a possibility of food haha. Oh man, I’m so glad we got them. I didn’t exactly realize how much I missed having farm animals around until we got them. Can’t wait to start getting eggs!! They should start laying in about a month or two. 🐔
After our chicken escapades Luke ended up playing Call Of Duty with his dad and one of his brothers over the internet for a couple of hours. I guess the beta for the new game was available to play this weekend and they have all been playing that for as long as possible whenever it’s available haha. I’m just glad they are able to play together so much. Since we live 5 hours away we don’t get to see them very often, but at least they have a video game they can play together every night. Or in the case morning haha. But while they were doing that I did some chores around they house. Fun stuff. 😉
Oooh but my September StrideBox came yesterday! I almost forgot about that haha. This month’s is full of all sorts of tasty looking goodies! My favorite StrideBoxes are the ones that come stuffed full of food and drink mixes. 😋 So far the only thing I’ve tried was the protein popcorn stuff. It was actually pretty good!! It definitely had that distinct protein powered taste to it, which I’m not a fan of. But still, not bad!! Haha I love being able to try new stuff like that. That’s why I love getting a StrideBox every month. I would have never even though to look for protein popcorn!
Anyway, once Luke was done playing Call Of Duty with his dad and brother for the morning we headed out to the cider mill. Except I didn’t know we were going to the cider mill. I though we were just going grocery shopping like we do every other Friday. But then we got onto the highway we literally only ever take if we’re going pumpkin picking. Haha later in the day Luke asked me how long it took me to figure out where we were going and that’s what I told him. 😉
When we got there a lady who worked there was telling us that they had some REALLY big pumpkins this year that they’d been calling “monster pumpkins” so obviously we had to find ourselves a monster pumpkin! Well, I had to anyway, Luke was wearing shorts and trekking through a pumpkin patch while wearing shorts can be pretty unpleasant. I on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed frolicking through the pumpkins. And I did find a nice big one! Haha Luke said he enjoyed watching me struggle with it and decided that he should take pictures instead of help me. That thing was heavy! But I got it to our wagon!
After successfully locating a monster pumpkin I grabbed a few nice, little pumpkins as well. I’m quite happy with my pumpkin selection. 🎃😊 Once we went to pay for our pumpkins they lady who worked there clarified that we did in fact select a monster pumpkin. Good thing too! Luke said that if it didn’t count we were going right back out to find a bigger one. I don’t think I would have been able to handle a bigger one. 😂
After our pumpkin’s were paid for and loaded into the truck we headed to the “country store” at the cider mill to pick up a few fall goodies. I guess we came a little too early, because they didn’t have as much stuff there that they usually do. But we still ended up getting some cool stuff. A jug of apple cider, because how can you go to a cider mill and not get apple cider. 😉 Some loose leaf tea, a super spiffy decorative dish towel, a jar of pumpkin butter (yum!!!), and THE BEST mug ever. I absolutely NEEDED a jack-o-lantern mug. I just didn’t know it until I saw this one. 😂
We paid for all of our nifty goodies and got a couple of cider donuts for the road. Not gonna lie, as a general rule, I don’t like donuts. I actually kind of hate them. But I do enjoy a nice, fresh, cider donut every once in a while.
After our pumpkin patch adventures we did some errands. Boring grown up stuff, ya know? Paying our mortgage, buying dental floss, dog food, grocery shopping, stuff like that. 😉 So we had to stop at the bank, Price Chopper, Aldi, and then Tractor Supply. While we were at Tractor Supply I bought a new flannel shirt. They’ve just started putting out their fall/winter gear and I kinda needed a new shirt haha. About a week or so I took a poll on my Instagram stories. I was quite pleased with the results, but still felt like I should probably get a new one, since the whole point of flannel is to keep you warm and a huge hole in the elbow area makes that a little more difficult haha.
^^ Haha both of those are of my left elbow. They’re just flipped because the first photo was taken with Instagram and the other one wasn’t. 😉
After we got back home from all of our running around I put away all of our groceries and what not, Luke mowed the lawn, and then our 4 year old neighbor came over. Her mom is working from home now so she’s been coming over more often. We colored and watched some cartoons and then a little later her mom came over to hang out. So they were actually over for a while. At one point the 4 year old colored in one of her mom’s tattoos, two of Luke’s, and then one of mine. After that her and Luke started drawing “tattoos” on each other.
Fun times man. 🙂 We had a full day yesterday, but it was pretty exciting. Obviously I didn’t run yesterday, but I’ve been trying to take every other Friday off since that’s the one day of the week Luke isn’t busy. But honestly I haven’t done a lot of running this week anyway. I’ve been feeling kind of off (I sure hope I’m not getting sick or something), but I’ll talk more about that in my Weekly Recap tomorrow.
So that’s all for now! Happy Saturday!!
