Woke up early this morning, briefly considered doing my run, very quickly decided “fuck that”, and went back to bed. Haha I was just really tired. 😉 But I only had an easy 2 mile run planned for today, so I figured skipping it wasn’t a big deal.
Once I did finally get up I ended up spend way too much time scrolling through all of my social media. Jeez that is a really good way to lose a good chunk of your time haha. But I did get to see a few of the cows that are going to be hanging out at the Running With The Cows starting line area and I was pretty excited about that! How adorable are these two?!? I’m very excited about seeing them on Saturday!
Luckily I didn’t end up wasting my whole day on the social media. That’s crazy easy to do haha! Eventually I got up and got some stuff done. I cleaned the ferret cage while they ran around for a while, and then did some stuff in the garden. Mostly just watered it, but I pulled out a few weeds too haha. Everything out there is looking pretty good right now though! Before too long we’re gonna have a bunch of tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, eggs, and all sorts of other good stuff. 🙂 I’m very excited about that!
After the ferret cage was clean and the garden was watered I took Lily and then Dean for a walk, worked on a few blog posts, started some laundry and general tiding of the house, and then I sat down with another cup of coffee and the book Cujo. Can you believe this is legit the first time I’ve read Cujo?!? Stephen King is my all time favorite Author and he has been since I was in like, 7th grade. The first ever “grown up” book I read was The Stand. 2 whole shelves on my huge book shelf are dedicated to and are absolutely overflowing with his books. But still, this is the first time I’ve read Cujo haha. But I mean, I’ve seen the movie about 8 billion times so I always reached for anther one of his books whenever I would go to get one. I’ve also never read Carrie or Pet Sematary. Pretty crazy, right? But again, I’ve seen both of those movies about 8 billion times as well. But since I’ve finally gotten around to Cujo I’ll eventually get to Carrie and Pet Sematary as well. I mean, the book is always better than the movie anyway. 😉
Haha so yeah, I suppose all in all my Thursday wasn’t very exciting. Although I did go to the packet pick up for Running With The Cows this evening. Yay!!
Since packet pick up was at Scheel’s I also spent some time looking for a new sports bra, as I really need a new one. Nike has been hardcore disappointing me lately though. They don’t make the same kind of running tights that I used to love and now they’re making their most standard sports bras differently. The seam on the bottom band of their new bras chafes me and is super uncomfortable. That’s kind of a problem because that was literally the only kind of sports bra I wore. But it worked for me up until this point so I never needed to try anything new. So I looked around at other brands but I hated them all. That new bottom band thing seems to be pretty universal. And the bras that didn’t have it were either padded, meant to give you crazy cleavage, were super bulky, or offered no support/compression. I feel like the athleasure trend has kinda forced manufacturers to make “pretty” looking bras instead of functional ones. And the ones that were more functional looking had that stupid bottom band thing that I hate. Or were padded. I don’t like padded bras, but in my experience, if a bra has removable pads then the front fabric tends to be thinner and that just doesn’t work for me. Ugh, it’s just super frustrating…
Here are some not so great photos of what I’m trying to describe. So, the bra on the right is a super old (I’m talking 4 years old Haha told you I need a new sports bra!) Nike sports bra. The bottom band on it is completely smooth and that’s what I like. The left bra is a newer Nike sports bra. It’s got some kinda weird ribbed kinda thing going on that I hate. It chafes and is super uncomfortable.
The Nike Pro’s are even worse. The bottom of those is just one hard elastic thing and that chafes me even worse…and this concept seems pretty popular for some reason.
Hahaha I told Luke if Nike stops making Free’s or starts changing them I’m going to be done with them for good. They’ve gotten rid of the tights I liked and the bras I exclusively wore. Luckily I’ve found a pair of running capris that I like, but now I’m gonna have to be on the search for new sports bras. Anyone have any suggestions? Haha being at the store today made me feel super picky, but all I want is a light weight sports bra, that doesn’t have any clasps, zippers, pads, or extra stuff like that, that offers medium support, that doesn’t chafe. Is that really so much to ask for? I looked through Nike, Under Armour, Brooks, and adidas, but didn’t find anything I liked…
