First and foremost, can we talk about how freaking true the above photo is? Especially when you decide to chug two Not Your Father’s Root Beer Beer’s on a Wednesday night. I know that’s not a lot, but I don’t exactly drink often and chugging them in a short amount of time may or may not have gotten me a little bit tipsy and I woke up a little more tired than I probably should have and very thirsty. Oh well, that was an easy enough fix. 🙂
Anyways, yesterday was Dean’s birthday!!!!!! My favorite running buddy turned 3 years old yesterday! We didn’t make him a cake like we did for Finn, but he did get a pretty good amount of raw, ground beef all to himself. So I think that more than makes up for it.
I say he’s my favorite running buddy, but I actually haven’t run with him for a while haha. I need to though. He really enjoys running with me. I’ll have to do that after all of the salt washes off of the roads. I don’t like walking my dogs on all of that stuff. It’s got chemicals in it that I don’t want them getting on their feet.
And speaking of running (my segues on these “Thursday Things” posts are so freakin good, I know. 😉 ), I didn’t do any one Tuesday or yesterday haha. After running on snow and ice on Monday my legs were completely trashed and my left knee was a little bit sore. I suppose that’s not too surprising though. Running on snow is hard! So I took a rest day on Tuesday and spent a little bit of time on my stationary bike on Wednesday. Haha and actually, part of the reason why I didn’t run yesterday was because it felt like -12 degrees outside and I didn’t feel like dealing with that kind of cold. It just didn’t sound like fun.
It’s looking like we’re not gonna have to worry about the crazy cold for much longer though! I mean, look at Sunday. That’s basically shorts weather at this point!!
It was still pretty chilly this morning though. It felt like 7 degrees when I woke up, which not gonna lie, felt a little bit toasty after -12 the day before hahaha. But since it was a tad bit warmer out and my legs felt a lot better, I figured I’d better do some running today. So I went out and did 20 easy minutes. I still had a bit of a niggle going on in my knee, so I figured short and sweet was a good idea for today. Plus there were still some icy patches on the road and that’s what more likely than not made my knee sore in the first place haha.
So, Death Of A Bachelor kept me entertained during my warm up and run this morning, but I need some new albums to listen to while I run. Suggestions?? Please! I’m getting really bored with most of my music lately haha. I need some new tunes!
Alrighty then! This is kinda super random, but aren’t all of my “Thursday Things” posts? Anyway, so a couple of months ago I saw an ad for this app called Achievement on Facebook. The ad basically claimed that you could earn a little bit of extra cash by being active. Of course I initially thought it was bullshit, but I did a little bit of research, downloaded the app, and discovered that it’s actually legit! Or at least it seems that way so far. So basically, you earn points by syncing apps like myfitnesspal, Strava, Garmin Connect, the FitBit app, Apple health and other apps like that, and basically just using them haha. It seems like you earn the most points by just logging steps but you still get a few by logging your meals, activities and what not. Then once you earn 10,000 they supposedly send you $10, either through PayPal or direct depostit. I haven’t gotten that far yet (I’m getting close though!) but I’ll let you know if I actually get $10!
So obviously it’s not a lot of money, but hey, it’s something! And basically all you have to do is use health/fitness apps that you already use! And I’m not getting any kind of compensation or rewards, or anything like that for talking about this app. I just thought it was pretty spiffy and wanted to share it with you guys! 🙂 If you’re at all interested, here’s Achievement’s website!
Anyway, I believe that’s all I’ve got to talk about for today! Haha now that the holiday’s are over it feels like I’ve just got nothing going on and very little to talk about at the moment. Especially since I’m just slowly working back into running and whatnot, so nothing very exciting is really happening right now. But I do have one race on the schedule in May and a few others that I want to do this year, along with all of my other running goals/plans. So hopefully before too long things will start picking up again! Haha but I just feel like I’m being kinda boring at the moment. Oh well, can’t do much about that except keeping up with what I’m doing. Which like I said, isn’t much, especially running-wise, but I do feel like I’m making some progress on that front. Slow progress. But progress nonetheless!

Oh yeah, and I’m bringing back the blonde hair streak thingy!! I don’t remember if I mentioned that on here yet haha. I’m kinda over the whole black hair thing, so I’m just letting that fade and working on bringing the blonde thing back. Right now it’s kinda orange, but hopefully it’ll only take one more round of bleaching to turn all the way blonde again. Like everything I’ve got going on right now, it’s a slow process.
