Never in my life has a cold fucked me up the way this one has. It’s seriously been terrible. My voice is still really hoarse (I’ll add the link to my vlog from today below, if you want to hear how bad it is), my chest is still really congested, I’m coughing and hacking, my nose is still stuffy, and I still don’t feel all that great…
On the bright side, I do feel quite a lot better today! Much better than I felt over the weekend! I’m still doing my best to rest, eat lots off fruits and veggies, and hydrate. Which is actually going a lot better than it was over the weekend, because now I actually want to eat and drink. 🙂
I also got in another short, slow “run” (there was quite a bit of walking done, for only doing a mile) this morning. These short easy runs have really helped clear out my nose and chest, but I’m still not up for doing much more than a mile yet and the warm weather sure isn’t helping. It was a little over 70 degrees when I finally hit the pavement today. I do need to start waking up before the sun gets up. That will make running feel a little better, but right now I’m just focusing on getting enough rest so that I can get over this damn cold. Then I’ll start worrying about waking up at 5 am, and getting back to a more normal running scheduled.
Anyway now that I’ve run and showered I guess I’m going to continue resting. All this sitting around is kinda driving me stir crazy, but I know it’s what my body needs right now, so I’m going to do it. I’ve started re-reading The Stand for the 8 billionth time, so that should help keep me busy. Yesterday I spent some time outside on my back porch reading, trying to get rid of my terrible running shoe tan lines, and soaking up some vitamin D. So I think I’m off to do do that again. I feel like helped a bit. And the ridiculous amount of blueberries that I ate yesterday probably helped a little bit too haha. Yay vitamin C and antioxidants!! 😉
