Weekly Recap: April 3rd-9th, 2017

Monday:

  • Rest day

I was still feeling a little under the weather on Monday, so having two rest days in a row was nice. I mean, Monday’s have been my rest day’s for a few weeks now, but if I had been feeling better I probably would have run. Not that it matters though, because I wasn’t, so I didn’t. πŸ™‚

Tuesday:

  • 30 easy minutes of running
  • 30 minutes of blogilates

I was feeling much better by Tuesday! I kinda wish I had a harder workout scheduled for Tuesday because I was having a lot of fun on this run. πŸ™‚  Plus it was a beautiful day. 40 degrees, cloudy, it was wonderful. The only sucky part was the humidity. It was at 97% during my run. But living in the Midwest you kinda come to expect crazy amounts of humidity during the warmer months.

Wednesday:

  • 30 minutes on the stationary bike

I had an interval workout schedule for Wednesday but Finn decided to keep Luke and I up all night, so I decided to switch that with my cross training day. That ended up working quite nicely.

Thursday:

  • Intervals
  • 2 miles

I felt pretty darn awesome on Thursday, so I ended up doubling. I really wish every single run felt like these two, but hey, I’ll take good runs whenever they come!

Anyway, my first run of the day was a 5 mile interval workout. It was beautiful outside, I saw some baby cows, it was great. πŸ™‚ Then later in the day it was still gorgeous out, I was feeling really good, and I wanted to be outside (but was bored with just sitting in my backyard), so I decided to head out for an easy 2 miles. Except it didn’t really end up being an “easy” run. I felt too good and was having too much fun not to push things a little bit.

Friday:

  • Yard work

So my legs were super tired after my exciting 7 mile day on Thursday. Luckily Friday was supposed to be a rest day. Not so luckily, I decided I needed to do a piss ton of yard work…I spent two hours weeding the front landscaping, picked up trash and sticks from the front yard, chopped down/dug up/pulled out a bunch of tree saplings from around the house and fence, and then planted some flowers and mint in the front landscaping. Whew, it was a lot of work! But oh man the front yard looks so good now! πŸ™‚

Saturday:

  • More yard work

Holy cow. When I woke up on Saturday my arms were sore, my back was sore, my legs and butt were sore, pretty much everything was sore and achy. I also woke up with a headache, tired, and dehydrated since my dumb ass did all that work and didn’t drink nearly enough water. I don’t know about you, but whenever I don’t drink enough water I always feel like crap the next day.

Yeah the second I woke up this morning I knew that running wasn’t going to happen. Hell, trying to run probably would have been a horrible idea. So I figured it’d be better to skip today’s “easy” run and then feel better for Sunday’s long run, instead of trying to run both days, but feeling like crap on both runs.

Unfortunately, I still had a bunch of yard work I needed to do. I weeded the landscaping on the side of the house, pruned the bushes, then Luke and I spread mulch in the landscaping.

Finn supervised the whole thing. πŸ˜‰

Sunday:

  • Rest Day

Holy cow. I woke up this morning and could barely walk. I’m sore/stiff every where and jeez am I tired…Luke for real told me to take the day off to relax, so that’s totally what I’m going to do!

I’m going to spend the day drinking water, watching Netflix, relaxing, and I’ll probably do some stretching at some point. πŸ™‚

I kinda wish I would have done more running this week, but I put in a shit ton of work the last few days and I’ll totally take that!

I hope you’ve had a great week!
