- Rest Day
It’s kinda weird having Monday be a rest day, but I wanted to switch things up a bit and that’s definitely one way to do it! 🙂
- Easy 30 minute run
- 30 minutes of blogilates
Nothing fancy, just a drizzly 2.34 mile run, followed by 30 minutes of random blogilates videos. I ended up working legs/butt, abs, and arms so it was a pretty decent full body strength session.
Spent a lot of this workout running in the rain and splashing in puddles. That was a lot of fun! I was very glad for that! This was a long interval workout (so the intervals were 8 minutes long) and those are my absolute least favorite thing ever! I enjoy short intervals (anything from 1-5 minutes) soooo much better. But this workout actually went pretty well, and I ended up covering 4 miles all in all. 🙂
- 40 minutes on the stationary bike
- 30 minutes of blogilates
Ugh, I’m not exactly a fan of cross training, and the fact that my stationary bike is broken just makes it so much worse. I can still pedal on my bike but it wont turn on, so I have no idea how far/fast I’m going. Which isn’t that big of a deal, but knowing how far I’ve gone on the bike really motivates me and now that I don’t know it kinda sucks. I’ve still been doing it though, but only because I keep reminding myself that cross training is very important.
- Rest Day
Instead of running Luke and I did a bunch of grocery shopping!! 🙂 Haha well, I guess I didn’t do that “instead” of running, as it was a scheduled rest day anyway, but whatever.
I also did a tiny bit of weeding in the garden. Our broccoli is coming up and our strawberry plant is flowering, so that’s pretty exciting!
- 10 minutes of stretching
Saturday started off not so great. There was just a lot of not so fun stuff going on that morning, but eventually I turned on Insomniac (one of my favorite Green Day albums) and then ran my interval workout a little bit harder than I probably should have. I ended up running 3.1 miles all in all, and I felt so much better afterwards!
The rest of my day went a lot better after that. I actually spent a lot of time looking up cattle dog trainers, herding trials and clinics, and refreshing my memory on a bunch of other border collie related stuff. I think Luke and I are going to end up doing some really fun stuff with Finn! I can already tell that he’s got a great temperament to be a cattle dog and he has a very impressive herding instinct at 3 months old, so I really want to see what he could do (he’ll probably never be able to work sheep though, probably just cows and goats. Just like Lily, he’s way to aggressive and very nippy). We’ve still got quite a bit of time before we can do that though. He’s still waaay too young to turn onto any kind of livestock.
Yeah, I was supposed to run long today, but the second I woke up I knew that wasn’t going to happen. I let the dogs outside then went back to bed for about another hour. I’ve been feeling kinda run down and just really bleh since last night. Apparently about 8 different bugs are going around at Luke’s work (along with pneumonia, so that’s cool…) and every time that happens Luke brings it home to me. He never actually ends up getting sick, but I always do…
Anyway, since I wasn’t feeling too great last night and woke up feeling absolutely beat this morning (but I still don’t actually feel like I’m sick or anything, so that’s good), I figured maybe this wasn’t the time to stress my system by trying to run long. I just feel like if I would have tried it that I would have most definitely woken up sick tomorrow and I really don’t want that to happen. I suppose I could have (and probably should have) done a few easy miles, but that just didn’t seem like any fun.
