Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Not gonna lie, I’ve never really been big into the whole St. Patrick’s day thing. But other people have a lot of fun with it, so that’s cool. 😄 Haha Luke’s family has quite a bit of an Irish heritage, so he said he doesn’t need to celebrate today because every day is St. Patrick’s day to him. I told him I don’t think it works that way, but I’m just a lowly person of German decent, so what do I know? 😄

Anyway, we’ve had quite a busy day! Luckily today was a rest day so I didn’t have to worry about trying to fit a run into the hectic mess that was our Friday. I mean, if it wasn’t a rest day I could have just woken up super early to get a run in, but I ain’t about that life. Haha but like I said, I didn’t have to worry about that which was nice.

We officially began our day around 8 am when Luke finally got his ass out of bed. He had promised someone at his work that he would fix a wheel bearing on her car this morning, no big deal. But then he decided to go out and play pool with his brother until 1:30 am. Not a great idea on his part, but we did eventually meet the lady at their place of work, swapped cars, and brought her car back to our house so Luke could work on it. That was an interesting 5 hours ordeal, but we got it done. Well I say we, but Luke did all the hard work, I just got him stuff when he needed it. 😬

At one point our neighbor came over to talk to us. He knows a lot about cars and liked talking to us. Plus he’s a navy veteran, collects antique weapons, and is always out walking his little dog. Oh and at one point he and his wife used to live in the house Luke and I currently live in, and he ran a bike shop out of the garage. He’s a pretty awesome guy.

Once the car was put back together we went back to Luke’s place of work, swapped cars back, then went to Dick’s Sporting Goods. Unfortunately, we took my brother in law’s car there, but we needed something from Luke’s car, so we had to drive 20 minutes to my brother in law’s work, trade cars, then drive 20 minutes back. When we finally got back to Dick’s we bought a shotgun that was on sale and new running shoes for me. Yay! New shoes are always fun. 😄 And my other pair are getting a bit worn, so I definitely needed a new pair to rotate with.

By the time we got home it was about 6 pm and I was STARVING! But we don’t have any food because we didn’t exactly have time to grocery shop today. I mean, I guess we could have done that instead of getting a gun and shoes, but that’s no fun. Anyway, before we could get food Luke wanted to put the shotgun together (which was super easy), then we had to go across the street and talk to our awesome neighbor (the one who came to our house earlier in the day) about our new toy. So we chatted for a while and he gave us a few boxes of shotgun shells (even though we told him we had just bought some and didn’t need any).

After we finished talking to him we went to Panera and got salad for dinner. It’s been forever since I’ve had a Cesar salad and it was sooo good! Now Luke, his brother, and I are gathered around the TV playing a Dungeons and Dragons type of game on the PlayStation, and that’s probably what we’ll be doing for the rest of the night.

So I feel like this post is really poorly written, but I typed everything up on my phone pretty quickly. I just wanted to share all of the craziness that went on today.

I hope you had a good St. Patrick’s Day!

Sounds like a good – albeit busy – St. Patty’s day!

Your new shoes are gorgeous. I want new ones. I just got new ones a month ago, but I already want more. Haha!

Also yay for a new shot gun! That sounds amazing. I love shooting.

Well at least you got one pair. Shoes are so hard to buy for me because my feet and arches are really picky and anything other than Asics (and not even all Asics!) hurt my feet. >.<

That's really neat! I've only been shooting since age 16 but I love it so much.

Aw that sucks. I’m lucky enough to have feet that aren’t all that picky when it comes to shoes, as long as they aren’t too bulky or have a lot of stabilization.:) It is a lot of fun!!
