So far this weekend has been kinda uneventful, and it’s been great! πŸ™‚

On Friday Luke and I did some grocery shopping. We spent a ridiculous amount of money, but we’re all stocked up on stuff that we’ve really needed but have been putting off for too long. Like a new toilet brush, rubber gloves for cleaning, and a new febreez oil diffuser thing, because with all of these animals, two boys, and a runner, things can get pretty smelly around here haha. Our fridge, fruit basket, and cabinets have been refilled, which is always a nice feeling, and we also walked away with a few things that aren’t exactly necessary, but are pretty neat. Like this big ass thing of coconut oil!

Definitely not a necessary purchase, but I’m super excited about it! SinceΒ my mom gave me a little bit of coconut oil while I was in Colorado I’ve been looking into the benefits of it and all the different ways to use it. According to the internet, it’s basically a miracle substance and cures/helps pretty much everything. πŸ˜‰ Obviously that’s a little bit of an over exaggeration, but it really is supposed to be good for you in a bunch of different ways, so I’ve been experimenting with a few of them. First and foremost, I’ve been putting a table-spoon of it in my coffee every morning. It’s absolutely delicious and supposedly good for digestion, weight loss, an energy boost, and a multitude of other things. I’m not going to list them all here. I’ve also been oil pulling with it every morning before I brush my teeth. I talked a little bit about that here. And yesterday I made a face scrub type of thing with it. I mixed together about a table-spoon of coconut oil and about a teaspoon of baking soda then rubbed it on my face for a few minutes. It’s supposed to help with blackheads and clean your pores. I’m not sure it any of that actually happened, but my face is much softer and less oily, which I definitely wasn’t expecting, considering I literally rubbed oil onto my face.

Along with stocking up on house hold items and groceries, Luke and I had planned on starting our garden on Friday. So when we got home from the store we turned our compost, which is something we should have done a long time ago. Then we pulled out some trees and weeds that were growing through and around our fence. After that was done we decided not to start tilling that day, even though that was what we had planned on doing. It’s still getting kinda cold at night and we’ve been getting frost in the mornings, so we decided to put that off for just a little bit longer. We’ll probably get started on that next week.

Yesterday we took the dogs to the park but that was pretty much it. The rest of the day was spent playing DS and I read for a little bit, and that’s probably all we’re going to do today as well haha.

I haven’t run at all this weekend and it’s actually been really nice! I guess I really did just need a little break. This morning I woke up feeling refreshed and actually wanting to run. but I decided to give it one more day, just to play it safe. I didn’t really notice how tired I actually was until I woke up feeling energized today. I really need to work on doing my easy runs really easy, and focusing on recovery. I’ve never really been good at those two things and those are kind of important things to do…

Anyway, I need to do some laundry and vacuuming, and then some dog walking.

Have a great Sunday!
