Weekly Recap: February 13th-19th, 2017

Monday:

  • 2 easy miles
  • 20 minutes of strength work

My legs is feeling much better now! Got in 2 miles followed by a lot but of strength work. Fun fun fun! πŸ˜„

Tuesday:Β 

  • 20 minutes of yoga

Ugh, didn’t feel like doing anything on Tuesday. I woke up sore, pissy, and couldn’t seem to focus on anything for very long. 😦 So I didn’t run, which is probably the opposite of what I should have done, but the 20 minutes of yoga definitely helped. I actually set out to do an hour, but that just wasn’t going to happen…Oh well, it’s better than nothing and like I said, I felt better afterwards. Plus it loosed up my sore muscles which was nice. πŸ™‚

Wednesday:Β 

  • Intervals
  • 20 minutes on the stationary bike

Slogged my way through this workout. Wasn’t and fun, but I set my goal before hand and I got it done. πŸ™‚

Thursday:Β 

  • 5 miles

The original plan was 3, but things were going too well despite it being warm and sunny (my least favorite weather. Ew.), so I obviously had to do 2 more miles. It was pretty great. πŸ™‚

Friday:

Spent 10 hours in the car on Friday. My brother, his friend, and I drove from Kansas to Colorado to visit my parents. I still feel like I got a full workout in though! After we got to Colorado and ate dinner, we did some shopping, took my parents’ dog for a walk, then went grocery shopping. All at a much higher elevation than I’m used to! It was a lot of fun though. πŸ™‚

Saturday:

My dad, brother’s friend, and myself all got up early to hike up a mountain! That was a super fun adventure (you can see all of the pictures here πŸ˜‰ ). My sister was waiting for me at my mom and dad’s apartment when we got back (she live’s 2 hours away). So we went walking around Estes Park. That was a lot of fun because I got to see the Stanley Hotel, which is where Stephen King wrote The Shining. And if you’ve followed me for any amount of time, you probably know that he’s my absolute favorite author. πŸ™‚

I didn’t get a chance to run on Saturday like I wanted to, but hiking up a mountain totally made up for that. πŸ˜‰

Sunday:

Still didn’t get to run like I wanted to. Boo. But I still had another fun filled day! I stayed the night at my sister’s house, and in the morning my mom and dad drove there so we could go to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (it’s a lot closer to my sister’s house). And as the name states, it’s in a mountain, so it was at a higher elevation than I had been at for the last two-ish days, so I felt like I was doing a whole lot of work just walking around haha. It was a lot of fun though! And I’m really glad I got to spend so much time with my sister. I haven’t been able to do that in a really long time.

So I definitely didn’t get all the running that I wanted to do done this week. But I’d say all of my adventures in Colorado were totally worth it!
