Hello Again, Colorado!

It’s good too be back! Even though I’ll only be here until Sunday, I’m definitely going to make the most of the short time I’m here. 😄

Me, my brother, and his friend all stayed up a little too late last night playing darts with Luke and my brother in law. Oops haha. I went to bed around 11 pm but couldn’t fall asleep until a little after 12:30 am, and my brother and his friend didn’t get to sleep until around 1:30 am. But even though we all went to bed late we still got up at 7 am, and were out on the road by 7:30. Not bad!

I wish I could say the same about the long ass car ride though. It’s pretty brutal being in the car for like 10 hours. I’m super impressed with my brother though, he drove the whole way! I don’t know how he did it, we were riding in my mom’s tiny SUV and it is super uncomfortable to drive for extended periods of time. I drove it for 4 hours once and my hips were achy, my feet fell asleep, and I wanted to die haha. But he made it the whole 10 hour drive, and with only three short out stops for gas and snacks.

You have no idea how excited I was to see this in a gas station in the middle of nowhere, Kansas.

Luckily my brother’s friend is pretty cool and we all got along really well. We spent a lot of time joking around and showing each other funny memes and stuff, and I also posted quite a bit on my Instagram story, so that all definitely helped time go by a little faster, but oh man, sometimes it just seemed to drag on and on and on…At least some of the scenery was pretty.

We finally got to my mom and dad’s apartment around 4 pm Colorado time (I think?) and that’s when the real fun began!
My parents didn’t know I was coming. I had told them Luke and I were busy this weekend and that I couldn’t come. So when we got here, I told the boys to be quite while we walked up the steps and then I started knocking on their door in the most obnoxious way ever. My mom opened the door looking absolutely perplexed, but once she realized it was me she started screaming and hugging me. So that was a lot of fun. 🙂

Once every one calmed down a little bit we started making plans for the weekend. Tomorrow we’re going hiking on Rabbit Mountain first thing in the morning, and on Sunday we’re going to go visit my sister and then all go to the zoo together. Once we had that all figured out my dad had to go to work so my mom took us out to dinner and then did a little bit of shopping.

Dinner. 😊

Two Stephen King books for $4 and a gummy pig! How awesome is that?!?

After that little adventure my mom and I took her dog Niko for a walk while the boys chilled at the apartment. It was a short walk, but oh man was it pretty! Haha not gonna lie, I was kinda winded near the end of the walk! The elevation really got to me I guess, plus Niko was getting really tired and I was basically dragging his 130 pound ass back to the apartment. That was fun. Definitely a good workout! 😉

After our walk I took a quick shower and then went grocery shopping with my mom. First we went to a farm and home supply store for dog food (I can’t for the life of me remember the name on it) while we were there she noticed the holes in my leggings so she found and bought me a new pair. Haha she’s just awesome like that. Then we went to walmart to get food and what not. It seems like every time I’m with my mom we somehow end up going to walmart…Whatever.

Now we are finally back at the apartment and I don’t think we have to go anywhere else for the night. Thank goodness! I’m pretty well done in. Currently my mom and I are painting while my brothers friend is showing us memes. Ah, I can’t think of any better way to bond that with acrylic paint and internet humor. 😉

Tomorrow should be a very fun filled day as well, and I’ll try to take lots of pictures to share with you all!

WHAT FUN! HAVE A GREAT TIME. And yeah, elevation IS an ass kicker. I went to a work conference in Montana once and signed up for a 10k that same weekend. I dumbed down to the 5k after I got there and realized I couldn’t really breathe 6.2 miles worth. 😀
