Woke up this morning with a pounding headache. That’s always a fun way to start the day… My leg was also feeling super tight when I first got up. Luckily for the past few weeks I’ve been taking Thursday as a rest day, so I didn’t have to try to run with a terrible headache (I’ve heard that running cures headaches for some people, but for me it only seems to make them worse) and it just gave my leg a chance to rest a little more. It seems to be doing a bit better, but it’s just been crazy tight and tight quads tend to cause me issues. I’ve been stretching it, so hopefully that’ll loosen it up a bit. Walking around a bit has seemed to help a little bit as well. As the day went on it started to feel less tight.
Oh man I wish I wasn’t such a klutz/injury prone. I don’t even know how I ended up hurting my leg, I mean, it felt fine during my 8 miler on Saturday, I guess on Sunday it felt alright, but my legs were super tired and didn’t want to move, but I still did 2 easy miles anyway. Maybe that’s what did it? I really feel like it wasn’t, but who knows. I probably tired to stretch it in a way I shouldn’t have or took a weird misstep and some point. I actually do that a lot haha. I’ve taken weird steps off of curbs, roads, etc and hurt myself doing it. One time I was stepping back onto an asphalt bike trail after stepping off of it to get a drink of water from a water fountain that was in a park near the trail, and I twisted my ankle so bad that I had to limp a mile home and it ended up being super swollen for a few days afterward. I guess maybe that’s why Luke wouldn’t let me get off the roof to take down the Christmas lights. I probably would have fallen or something hahaha.
Anyway, it’s been another uneventful day here in Kansas. Everywhere on social media people are talking about the crazy amount of snow the east coast is getting and I’m super jealous. I love the snow! But it’s supposed to be 60 degrees here tomorrow. Boring…but it could be a lot worse I suppose. I was just really hoping we’d get a winter full of snow. But that just didn’t happen this year.
Happy Thursday everyone!
