Weekly Recap: January 30th-February 5th, 2017

Monday:

  • Easy 2 miles
  • 30 minutes of yoga sculpt

Up until Monday, I never realized just how hardcore yoga could be! I did a 20 minute video of yoga sculpt for the hips and butt and a 10 minute video for abs, and holy cow did I feel it in my hips! That’s probably a good thing though, as my hips do tend to be pretty weak.

Tuesday:

  • 3 miles

Nothing fancy, just a nice little 5k to start off my Tuesday. My hips were still feeling a bit sore, but running seemed to help loosen them up a bit. I probably should have done some hip openers, but meh, that’s boring.

Wednesday: 

  • Intervals
  • 10 minutes of foam rolling

My current favorite workout and a new 10k PR? I’ll take it!! So, my current favorite workout consists of a 2 mile warm up, 40 minutes of intervals (3 minutes “hard” running, 1 minute of walking), and about a mile to cool down. It’s so much fun! Although, I was completely beat after this workout and I couldn’t bring myself to do much of anything for the rest of the day haha. I didn’t even do the foam rolling, Luke used the hand held roller on me because I couldn’t be bothered to do it. The PR was totally worth it though. 🙂

Thursday:

  • Rest day

I guess another benefit of hard workouts is a great night of sleep! I supposedly got 5 hours of deep sleep and that literally never happens, usually I get around 3-4. I still woke up feeling tired and sluggish though. Man that workout really took a lot out of me. Still totally worth it! Plus I had planned on taking a rest day on Thursday anyway, so that worked out nicely, and it gave me a chance to reign my eating in which I talked a little bit about here.

Friday:

  • Rest Day

Well, if you can call going to 8 million different stores a rest Day that is haha.

Saturday:

  • 8 miles
  • 20 minutes of stretching/foam rolling

I wasn’t feeling well on Saturday, so I’m kinda surprise how well my run went! I talked all about that here, if you want to know the details. 🙂

Sunday:

  • 2 easy miles

I’m feeling a lot better today, so I was hoping I was going to have a super awesome run! Didn’t happen though, my legs did not want to move today. Oh well, I still got two miles in and that brought me to the minimum mileage goal that I had for this week. 🙂
