*Jumps up and down wildly while screaming incoherently*
I didn’t think it was going to happen! I thought the Revolution Radio tour was going to come and go without me being able to go, but yesterday my mom bought tickets for me, herself, and my dad to go to the show in Kansas City on August 11th!!! I don’t think my parents have ever been to a concert like this before, so this should be an interesting experience. My mom wants me to help her pick out and to do her eyeliner. And I may have to warn my dad about some of the political stuff that may or may not be said by Green Day during the show. My dad has some very strong political views and they are quite different than Green Day’s. Not a bad thing, but I just feel like I should warn him ahead of time. Especially since this kind of music isn’t really his thing.
I won’t have to worry about anything though, I fit in just fine at these kind of events! Well, that’s kind of a lie, I felt a little bit out of place when I was My Chemical Romance back in high school with some friends, that kind of music/scene really isn’t my kind of thing. But last time I saw Green Day back in 2009 with Luke, I was pretty much surrounded by other people who were similar to me. It was fantastic! Haha I’d post a photo of Luke and I from that concert, but he had his emo kid hair cut back then and he’d kill me if I shared that with the interwebs.
Anyway, our seats kinda suck, but the tickets were only $30 so I can’t complain (not that I could anyway, since my mom paid for them), but I’m just super excited to be seeing Green Day again!!Along with Green Day tickets, I also got a new laptop yesterday! Yay! It’s nothing fancy, just a Dell Inspiron 11, but it’s something that I can type on and easily bring places, so it’ll be nice to have around! 🙂 What I really miss is the gaming laptop I had like 5 years ago. That was amazing! But Luke kinda destroyed that one with a virus…haha oh well, at the rate technology improves, it would probably would have been obsolete by now. It was still a nice laptop though…Anyway, now I have a place to put some stickers that I didn’t know what to do with, so at least there’s that!
Anyway, yesterday wasn’t all about me getting things. Luke and I also ran some errands, went grocery shopping, and I inquired about a kennel job! I found an ad on Craigslist looking for a kennel assistant/manager Monday-Friday 7:30 am-10 am. That would be absolutely perfect for me! Especially since I literally grew up working in a kennel, it wouldn’t be anything out of the ordinary for me. Plus I definitely have the experience that they are looking for! The only problem is they didn’t specify where they are located in the add. They said they are in the town I live in, but that was it. The only kennel I know of in my town is at the vet clinic and if that’s who posted the ad that would be amazing, since they’re literally a block over from where I live. Since Luke and I only have one car that would work out so perfectly for me! So I sent an email to whoever posted the ad on Craigslist letting them know I was interested and I just wanted to know where they were located before I send in my resume, so hopefully they’ll get back to me soon!!!
As for today, well it wasn’t as exciting or productive as yesterday was. I had wanted to do a long run, but my legs felt like lead and I just wasn’t in the right mindset to go long this morning. Being in the right state of mind is kinda important for me to be able to go long and there was just no freaking way I could have done it today. Oh well, I got a slow 3 miler done, and that’s better than nothing. 🙂
After my run I spent some time working on some blog posts and watching Shameless (I’m seriously addicted). Then I picked up the house a little bit, got started on the ass ton of dirty dishes that we have because we were out of dishwasher detergent for a while, took Lily for a walk (Dean seemed content running around in the backyard, so I only had to walk one dog today), the from about 3 pm until now (8 pm) Luke and I did a whole lot of nothing…Actually, that’s a lie! He spent some time berating me for not doing a long run today, then promising me at some point he’s going to start running with me again. It’s probably going to be a while before he does, but at least he’s thinking about it!
How’s your weekend going?
Are you going to any concerts this summer?
