- The first 30 minutes of Jillian Michaels’ No More Trouble Zones video
So, this was the first time in a long time that I’ve tried to do that workout video. I definitely learned just how out of shape strength wise I am, but I’m definitely going to keep working on it! Back in 2014 I was very into Jillian Michaels and I did one of her workouts at least 3 times a week. Back then I was close to 20 pounds lighter and I could run faster, so I definitely want to get that fitness back!
- Easy 4 miles
- 5 minutes of stretching
So the original plan for Tuesday was to do a 10k with some intervals, but my legs, butt, and arms were just too crazy sore to attempt that (I told you, I’m very out of shape when it comes to strength stuff). So I did an easy 4 miler instead. Although, it didn’t exactly feel easy, with me being sore and the 23 mph wind gusts that were going on that morning. Oh well, at the very least I’m probably getting better at running on tired legs.
- 20 minutes of yoga
I suppose I can call Wednesday’s 5k a “quality run” since the first two miles were exactly the same pace! The third was about 8 seconds slower, but I was running directly into the wind (which was gusting at 20 mph) and going up hill for like 90% of the last mile, so I’m not upset about it being a little slower.
- Rest Day
Taking a rest day was kind of a hard decision, but I think I really needed it. My legs were still feeling tired and sore from Monday, so I figured a day of rest would do them more good than trying to do the easy 4 miler that I had planned on Thursday.

My mom and brother stopped at my house in Kansas on their way back to Colorado from Illinois, so I didn’t want to run while they were here, since we don’t exactly get to see each other very often.
- 7.46 miles
The original plan for today was 8 miles, but I was considering doing 10 halfway through this run. But Luke wanted to take the dogs to the park, so I ended up cutting it a little short. Totally worth it!
- 3.5 miles
Today’s run was slow, cold, wet, and a little bit icy. Pretty fun though! 😄
Total Weekly Mileage: 19.09
I’m only off my goal to run 21 miles a week by a little bit. Kinda sad that it happened the second week of January. Especially since I decided to set my goal to run 1,000 miles this year in the first week of January. Oh well, I can probably make up those two miles pretty easily next week. 😄
