Well actually I want to start off with some Wendsday things, since some fun stuff went down yesterday but I didn’t get around to posting about it. But I’ll get to the Thursday things too, because some exciting stuff went down today as well. 😄
So, yesterday my very much anticipated package from Honey Stinger came! Yay!
I wanna take some time to acknowledge the Fedex guy who dropped my package off. He was out making deliveries in single digit temps and is probably still dealing with the holiday rush of deliveries. Thanks Fedex guy! You rock!! Remember that without truck drivers and delivery personnel like, 90% of whatever it is you buy wouldn’t make it to its destination! (This subject is kind of near and dear to my heart, as my dad is a truck driver). 😄
Anyways, yay Honey Stinger! This is what I spent most of my Christmas money on, so I was very excited to see it show up at my door! I got me a spiffy new trucker hat, a box of blueberry buzz energy bars, a box of chocolate waffles (because I can never seem to find these at any store), a box of gingersnap waffles (because everyone says these are amazing), and a thing of honey.
Not gonna lie, I’m a little disappointed that the honey is a product of Brazil instead of Colorado (where Honey Stinger is located), but I suppose if I wanted honey that’s actually from Colorado I could get my dad to get me another jar of raw honey. He did that once and it was so good! Or I could get some raw honey from local meat market Luke and I go to occasionally. That stuff is amazing!! Plus I’m all for supporting local business and bees. 🐝😄
I’m very much excited about everything else though! Honey Stinger waffles are my absolute favorite on the run fuel, and I’m super excited about the energy bars. I tried one yesterday before my run and it was alright, but it was still super hard and cold from sitting in a truck all day, so I feel like I can’t judge them based on that. It did sit really well in my stomach while I was running though, and that’s always awesome. And the hat is just super spiffy.
So that was just all sorts of fun! Then to add to all that excitement, Luke told me he took today off of work. Yay 4 day weekend!!
Now we’ve made it to the Thursday things. 😉
I woke up to snow! Remember when you were a little kid, and you’d go bed not knowing that it was gonna snow, then when you wake up in the morning and look outside and see that the ground is covered and you get super excited? Yeah, that’s exactly how I felt this morning.
Then to add to the fun, it started snowing again while I was eating breakfast. So obviously I had to finish my coffee super fast, get geared up (because it felt like -4 with th windchill), and go play in the snow!
It snowed for pretty much the whole first half of my run, but not gonna lie, I was kinda glad when it stopped. Frozen water hitting your face kinda gets annoying after a while haha.
Things were very slow going for me today. I had to do some walking and stopped several times for cars, since driving in the snow is already stressful enough and adding someone on the side of the road just makes that situation worse for some people. But I still had a lot of fun! 😄
This run kinda took a lot out of me! Haha running in the snow is pretty tough though. I ended up spending the rest of the morning and a good portion of the afternoon sitting. Oh man, I was seriously beat!
Eventually though I did get up and moving again. Luke and I took Bruce out in the snow for the first time ever! He was not impressed. The dogs, however, are very excited about the snow!
After Bruce’s apparently unwanted adventure, I took Lily for a super short walk (what is it about the cold weather that makes a person have to pee every 4 seconds?!? That’s why our walk was super short), tended to the rest of our zoo, and did some cleaning and other normal, boring, adult stuff.
Once all the boring adult stuff was taken care of, it was time to play some Pokémon! We’re trying to complete our Pokédexes in Sun and Moon, so that’ll probably keep us busy for a while!
So yeah, those are all of the things I had to talk about today.
Happy Friday Eve!
