Weekly Recap: December 26th 2016 – January 1st 2017

Monday: 

  • 1 Mile
  • Lots and lots of cleaning (I’m only counting it because I didn’t have time to do anything else haha)

Monday was the last day of my running streak. I made it 34 days out of 40, but I was getting kinda burned out and just had to quit. Oh well, I’m still proud of myself for running at least a mile for 34 days straight. I even gained a few new PR’s along the way. πŸ™‚

Tuesday:

  • Rest day

I needed this so so so sooo bad! I spent like, 90% of my day sitting and reading, and it was fabulous!

Wednesday:

  • 40 minutes of yoga

So, this was a lot of fun! I did one of Tara Stiles’ yoga for strength flows and it was super hard! It deffinitely worked my body in a way that I haven’t in a while, and it was great! My arms and abs were pretty darn sore the next day.

Thursday:

  • Another rest day, because why not?

I did end up walking each dog about 2 miles though, so at least I didn’t spend the whole day sitting around like I did on Tuesday haha (seriously though, I did need that).

Friday:

  • 25 minutes of yoga 

Did some hip opening and more strength stuff. Fun fun fun! I also walked Lily about 2 miles and when Luke got off work we took both dogs to the dog park and walked around with them for a while. So at least I’m not just sitting around doing nothing. I just needed a break from running, not exercise in general. 😁 

Saturday:

  • Rest Day

So, I finally ended up getting sick…I’ve talked about this a few times before, but several times during this cold/flu season I’ve started feeling a little sniffly, but it would only last a day or two and then I’d feel fine. But something finally got me. My throat hurts, I’m sore everywhere, and I just feel pretty shitty in general. On the bright side, at this point I don’t have a stuffed up nose, and I’m very thankful for that. Stuffy noses are the worst…Anyway, I figured I’d probably be better off just resting today. And eating ice cream for breakfast, since my throat hurts and all. πŸ˜‰



Sunday:

  • Super duper easy 30 minute run
  • Day 1 of Yoga with Adriene’s 31 Day Yoga Revolution 

Kept my run super easy today, but my legs still felt like lead. I’m still feeling kinda sick though and I’ve done a lot of sitting during the past few days, so I’m thinking that’s why. Oh well, I’ve officially started my journey to run 1,000 miles this year! πŸ˜„



Total Weekly Mileage: 3.16

Perfect milage for a rest week, if you ask me!! πŸ˜‰ I actually wanted to run today, so I figured that was a pretty good sign that ending my streak early and taking some days off was a good idea!

    I love your 1000 mile goal this year! I just set mine to 1050. I’d been thinking about 1000, but I’ve learned that if I don’t push myself, I’m a really lazy slacker. The 1050 goal will require me to actually hit each of my monthly goals this year, so we’ll see how it goes!
