All week I’ve felt like I was kinda coming down with a cold, but not really. I suppose that doesn’t make a lot of sense, but that’s the best way I can describe it. But today I woke up with a runny nose and a semi scratch throat, and I definitely feel like I’m getting a cold. Awesome. That would definitely explain why I’ve felt so tired and kinda slow this week.

I was really hoping to get through cold and flu season unscathed, that’s literally never happened but hey, a person can dream haha. I am happy that I made it through half marathon training without getting sick though, so at least there’s that.

Anyway, for day 10 of my run streak I stuck with a nice and easy mile. Didn’t take my running buddy today, since I actually wanted this run to be easy, and Dean likes to go out super fast, wears us both out, and we end up finishing super slow. πŸ˜‚

Tomorrow I was thinking about doing a 6 or 7 mile “long run”, but I guess I’ll have to wait and see how I feel. Hopefully I’ll just be stuck with a running nose for a few days and it doesn’t turn into a full blown cold.

I literally just saw a dog run past my window, and I’m going to go see if he won’t come to me. I know who he belongs to (perks of being a runner I suppose), and he doesn’t wear a collar, so I can get him back where he belongs.

Update:

Well he ran back toward his house, but animal control just drove by. Hopefully he gets to where he needs to be before they catch him. From what I’ve hear, that’s a pretty hefty fine, especially if you don’t have your dog registered at city hall (which is an absolutely ridiculous law and no one around here follows it, including us).

Haha same here! But most of them are super friendly and I know where a lot of them live, so I’ve helped a few of them get home. It’s really weird that such a small town has a law like that (seriously, only 5,000 people live here), but I think it may have something to do with pit bulls being illegal in the state of Kansas. Which is an even more ridiculous law…
