Yesterday was my 25th birthday! Yay! I’m a quarter of a century old!
Luke took the day off from work, so he could take me and the dogs to the park, then we went to the mall and he got me pants for my birthday (hey, it’s what I wanted! 😉), and then we got cheese burgers at a local restaurant. I really wanted a cheese burger hahaha. So that was a fun day.
Anyway, I’m 4 days post half marathon and I don’t plan on running again until Thanksgiving. I thought not running was going to drive me crazy, it sure did last year, but at this point I’m actually glad I’m taking some time off. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how I feel in a couple of days though, my quads are still kinda sore, so it’s hard to want to run when walking still feels a bit awkward!
Since I’m not running at the moment I’m focusing on strength. This week I plan on doing a lot of Blogilates since she only really works one body part per video, and I’m not ready to work my best yet. Monday I did an arm video and today I plan on doing abs. Next week I’ll probably stick with Jillian Michaels videos. Her videos are tough, but man do they work! Then on Thanksgiving I start the Runer’s World winter streak! So I’ll be running at least 1 mile every day from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day, but I’m still going to make sure I’m doing a lot of strength work.
Alrighty then! I just wanted to give you guys a quick update on what my plan is for the next few weeks. Now I need to finish my breakfast and start walking! I want to get in 20,000 steps today! My dad invited me to a step challenge on Garmin Connect and he’s currently winning. I can’t let that happen. 😉
