- 3 easy miles
Nothing fancy or exciting for Monday’s workout, but that’s fine with me! I did, however, have a bunch to talk about on Monday and you can find that all here. 🙂
- 1 Mile
I was supposed to do an interval workout on Tuesday, but my brother-in-law has picked up smoking (although he’s supposedly trying to quit) and he hangs out with other people who smoke, so he always smells like cigarettes and so does his bedroom (which is in my house btw). This is a huuuge problem for me because cigarette smoke is my number one asthma trigger. Seriously, anytime I’m near him (or anyone else who smokes) I get headaches, have trouble breathing, and feel like I’m going to die. So I’ve been having a pretty awesome time lately…and long story short, my lungs/throat hurt on Tuesday and I couldn’t do my workout.
That kinda turned into a rant and I apologize for that. I actually don’t have a problem with people who smoke or anything, and usually I’m ok to be around it as long as we’re outside and the smoke isn’t being blow directly in my face, I mean, I don’t exactly feel great, but it’s not bad and I tend to get over it quickly. But this constantly being exposed to it isn’t giving my body a chance to heal and it really fucking sucks.
Felt a little better on Wednesday. Like I said, my brother-in-law is trying to quit smoking so that’s been helping, and he’s making more of an effort to keep that shit away from my pathetic asthma ridden ass. But, at least he’s trying and I give him that.
- 10 ish minutes of my husband using my massage roller on my legs. He’s awesome! 🙂
Alright! My lungs were feeling a lot better on Thursday, which is awesome! And I finally broke through the running slump I was in by PRing my 5k time by 40 seconds. Yay me! Then that night my husband rolled my legs for me. He gets in there much deeper than I can so it’s really nice when he does it. Thursday was a good day. 🙂
- Rest day
This was really weird, because for the most part, my training plan had me resting on Thursdays and doing a speed workout on Friday, but this week was switched, and I kept forgetting that it was actually Friday. I even almost forgot to put the trash cans up (as Friday is trash day), because I seriously woke up thinking it was Thursday. Haha whatevs. I was also really feeling the whole taper thing on Friday. I really wanted to run. I was also really wishing that my “long run” this week was more than 6 miles. That’s just no fun.
- 25 minutes of stretching
With that I’m pretty much done with the whole training thing! Now all that’s left to do is rest, do a few easy runs, and then run my second half marathon! At this point I’m super excited to see how I do, because I’ve been PRing all over the place lately.
This 10K was no exception. Since this is the last run I really get to have any fun with until next Saturday, I decided I was going to PR my 10k time, as my schedule called for 6 miles anyway. So I did. By like, 3 minutes. 😄😄😄 Haha I must be doing something right if I can just decide to PR and then actually do it! I’m super proud about that. 😁 And that’s super close to one of my big goals for the year, which is to do a 10k in 1:20:00. At this rate I should definitely be able to do that by the end of the year!
- Rest Day

Not bad! Still kinda wish I could have made it to 18 miles like I would have if I’d have actually done Tuesday’s workout, but oh well, I’m still happy with how this week went.
