Thursday Things

Started my day off with my daily does of Green Day! Last night they performed at KROQ in LA and part of it was streamed live. I didn’t get to watch it live since Luke and I were watching the presidential debate, so I watched the replay this morning. Good stuff!! 

Normally I would have begun my day with  a run and all the things that go with that (eating, stretching, shower, eating again, you know what I’m talking about), but today’s a rest day. Yay! No seriously, I’m very much happy about that. I’be been crazy tired lately. So instead Lily and I went for a nice 2 ish mile walk. That kinda made me wish I was running this morning, the weather was amazing! Ah well, we still had fun. 

After that I did 20 minutes of yoga for strength and flexibility. I very much needed that. I’m super tight and I’ve been skipping strength stuff. Mostly because I’ve been tired and strength training is no fun…

Anyway, I think I’ve figured out why I’ve been so tired; I haven’t been eating enough. Or at least I don’t think I have been…but yesterday I ate waaay too much. Like, I had a shit ton of pasta 3 different times during the day, a bunch of toast, cereal, ect. I guess it’s pretty obvious that my body was hardcore craving carbs. 😉

 Even though I kinda went over board, I felt soooo much better. So today I’ve been trying to eat a little more and a little better, and so far so good! I made these oatmeal banana muffin things so that I’d have something healthy readily available. I mean, pasta is great and all, but one can’t live off mac and cheese and tortellini alone. Unfortunately…

I’ll probably share the recipe for these bad boys at some point. They are super yummy and crazy healthy! 😄

So I’ve got those along with a bunch of healthier carb options at the ready for when I need them. I definitely need to be getting more protein as well, but carbs are just more fun…Maybe I’ll start mixing some protein powder in with my coffee in the morning. I’ve heard that works really well for some people. 

On the bright side, I’ve been drinking plenty of water, so at least I’ve got that going for me! 😬

Anyway, I haven’t exactly been a productive person today. I’ve been kinda sniffly and feel like I could be coming down with a cold, so I’ve done a lot of Netflix-ing today. Hopefully it’s nothing some hot tea and a good night of sleep can’t fix. But I suppose it would be better to get sick now that on race week. Only 23 more days to go! 

So yeah, that’s all I’ve got for today. I guess I’ll leave you with Troubled Times. Which I feel is a quite accurate description of the time we live in. Especially after watching the presidential debates (and that as in depth about politics as I plan on getting).
