Rev Rad, Morning Run, and a Suprise Family Visit

I was up at 5:45 this morning which is currently pretty early for me! (I’ve been having issues with mornings lately). So you may be thinking something along the lines of “this girl is a crazy Green Day fan and only got up early because their new album came out today”. You would not have been wrong with that assumption either, I probably would have gotten up early no matter what this morning. πŸ˜‰ Aaaand the very first thing I did was download Revolution Radio and promptly uploaded it to my phone. That is not the only reason I was up so early though!

Yesterday I was wondering if my parents would show up at my house as they are currently driving to Colorado from Illinois (and Kansas just so happens to be between those states). Well guess who showed up at our door at 5:50 this morning? Haha my brother was with them too which is neat! They said they had parked at the BBQ restaurant that’s kinda on the other side of our yard for an hour, and when they saw our lights turn on they made their way to our house. So we all said hi and then bye to Luke who had to get to work, and then they all went to take naps. Apparently my dad and brother are exhausted from being up crazy early and driving 4 hours (my dad’s driving a uhal and my brother is following in their car). So that kinda sucks for them, they still have 9 ish hours before the even make it to their final destination. I’m glad they could stop here and rest though. πŸ™‚

Anyway, since they were all asleep and I was wide awake, I figured it was the perfect time for me to run! Well, I had to wait for the sun to start coming up first. It was waaaay to dark for me to safely run at 6:30. So while I was waiting for it to get lighter outside I listed to Revolution Radio for the very first time. Guys, I’m totally in love with this album!!

I made my way outside around 7 am when the very first hints of light were making their way into the sky. I had no idea what the weather was supposed to be like, but was plesently surprised to find that it was nice and chilly (around 43 degrees) and cloudy. Perfect!

The nice weather actually ended up being kind of a problem though. That combined with me listening to Rev Rad for the second time this morning, I was just a tad bit excited and I went out waaaaay too fast. Like, I ran the first mile in 11 minutes which is something I haven’t done since the last time it was actually cold out. So early spring maybe? Anyway, normally that would have been awesome, but today was supposed to be a recovery run. Oops…

I kinda sorta managed to rein it in a bit, but definitely not enough…I’m probably going to regret this run tomorrow during my 10 miler, but right now I’m a little to hyped to care. The cold is my favorite. Green Day is my favorite. Running is my favorite. I am the happiest of campers this morning. πŸ™‚

Well then, it’s 9:15 am now, and I’ve run, showered, eaten breakfast, and wrote this blog post, all while my parents and brother napped. Which they are still currently doing. So I suppose I’m going to have to pass the time by listening to Revolution Radio again. Oh darn. πŸ˜‰

Happy Happy Friday!!
