Weekly Recap: September 26th-October 2nd, 2016

Monday:

  • Easy 30 minutes

Ah, it felt so good outside on Monday! It was kinda hard to keep things easy because I felt really good and the cooler weather makes me want to run harder. πŸ™‚

Tuesday:

Haha I almost skipped this workout because I woke up super tired, but I’m glad I didn’t. It was another nice day outside, and since I had intervals on the scheduled that meant I got to run a little harder. I ended up having fun while simultaneously wishing for death whenever I had to go uphill. Hahaha it was a strange feeling, but I have a sneaking suspicion other runners have felt the same way.

This was only my fastest 5K on this watch. I’m still happy with it though. πŸ™‚

Wednesday: 

  • 30 minutes of yoga

I’m quite proud of myself! I made up my own yoga sequence instead of following a YouTube video. I did what felt good and I feel like I did more good for myself that way. Winchester didn’t understand why I wouldn’t hold still long enough for him to nap. πŸ˜‚

Thursday:

  • Rest Day

Friday:

  • 2 easy miles

Ah it was so nice outside on Friday! It’s feeling like fall and I’m loving it! 

Saturday:

  • 10 miles
  • 10 minutes of stretching and 5 minutes of foam rolling 

First 10 miler of this training cycle! It went pretty well I suppose. The first 8 miles were ok, but the last 2 were absolute hell haha. But I got it done, and hopefully next week will be a little easier. πŸ˜„

Sunday: 

  • Rest Day 

Thought I was going to be crazy sore this morning, but I’m actually not too bad! We took the dogs to the park and I felt pretty good! My hip flexors and shoulders are a little stiff though. 

Total Weekly Mileage:  17.69

Darn, I was really close to 18 haha, oh well. I’m attempting to get up to 20 miles a week. I’m obviously really close. Maybe next week I guess. 3 rest days is kind of a lot, but I think they were all necessary. Anyway, I’m still happy with how this week went. πŸ™‚

    It’s funny, I’ve learned that I’m almost always ok with 8 miles, and anything beyond that is almost always hell! I don’t know what it is about that 8 mile mark, but it always seems to signal the end of happy-town.
