Friday Fives: Fun Things About Fall

Fall is finally here!! Now if only the heat would get the memo and go away. That would be awesome…

Anyway, October-January is basically the best part of the year in my opinion, so I’m super stoked that it’s the end of September and fall is finally upon us! So yeah, picking only five things was kinda hard haha.

1. Pumpkins

I don’t care if this makes me a basic white girl or whatever. Anything and everything pumpkin related is awesome. Pumpkin seeds, jack o lanterns, pie, bread, coffee, the list goes on and it’s all great.

2. Fall Foliage

It took me a while to settle on a photo for this one because I absolutely love when the leafs start changing so I have a ridiculous amount of photos of well…leafs haha. But seriously though, fall is the prettiest time of year (although I think fresh snow is a super close second).

3. Halloween

Candy, scary movies, fun decorations, bonfires, costumes, hay rides, silly games, pumpkin carving, I could go on and on and on. What’s not to love?! Haha I guess Halloween kinda involves everything I like about the fall, plus spooky stuff. πŸ˜‰

4. Food

Fall food is the best food. Refer back to number one. πŸ˜‰ Also, chili, pie, coffee, apples, squash, soup, cider, etc. It’s all better in the fall.

5. Chilly Evenings

I think by now you all know I’m a big fan of colder weather, so I guess this isn’t all that surprising that I like something to do with the cold, dusk has always been my favorite time of day and in the fall it just seems extra magical.

Dude I know you are all about the upcoming cold season but I just can’t go with ya in this one; even though it’s been crazy hot this summer. I hate to see summer go…pause as I have moment 😭 And WV had some of the best fall foliage around its gorgeous but that just means snow is coming. But on the upside the cooler weather will be great to run in, so that’s my positive. So enjoy your upcoming season and all your pumpkin festivities. πŸŽƒ

Haha I feel like I’m definitely in the minority when it comes to preferring the colder months. Oh I definitely will!! πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

THANKS for this! Living near Chicago where the winter is cold, snowy and pretty much paralyzing to someone who loves the outdoors but not when it’s below 20 degrees, I have always seen fall as nice but a little mournful. Last year, I was trying to find something good about it and I asked my best friend and she said “sweaters and boots”. I was like “what? are you crazy? how in hell am I supposed to run in sweaters and boots” LOL She’s not a runner. But all of the things you mentioned are things I can look forward to as I try to ignore the coming blast. πŸ™‚

Agree wholeheartedly about being happy to see the cooler weather coming. Here in the southwest, we’re just thrilled to get to wear long sleeves for a couple of months. Pumpkins are good for decoration, as far as I am concerned, but when I was a kid, my mom made a homemade pumpkin pie and left the stringy things in it. They got caught in my throat and so kind of ruined pumpkin pie for me. I enjoy seeing people’s pictures of fall leaves changing colors. Here, we’re basically brown year ’round but the desert has its own unique beauty. Halloween and food… all good. The true sign of the season is seeing BooBerry and Frankenberry cereals on the shelf!
