I wish it actually felt like fall outside, but thunderstorms this weekend are supposed to bring a cold front with them and after that it’s supposed to start getting colder. I sure hope that’s true!!😁
Anyway, I switched my easy day/rest day around. I figured I needed to take yesterday off so my body could have a little time to fight off whatever illness I’ve come down with. Today I slept in about an hour later than I usually do, but more sleep was probably more beneficial to me right now than running before the temperature outside got mildly uncomfortable. But I did run!
Before my run though, I made a tasty “pumpkin pie” smoothie. Haha gotta celebrate the first day of fall somehow, right? 😉My run this morning actually went pretty well! Especially compared to my runs earlier this week. I guess I really did need a day off. I had to take several walking breaks to hack gunk out of my lungs and then catch my breath haha, but I got 30 easy minutes done and that was the goal! I also warmed up before and stretched after! Look at me actually keeping up with that stuff again. 🙂
I’m thinking I may actually accomplish a long run this week. I’ve been kinda worried about that, since I haven’t done one in three weeks now (I think) thanks to my shin and toe situation. But they’re both doing well now and even though I’m sick I’m not feeling all too crappy and I seem to be getting better. So I should be able to do it. As long as I take it easy that is. I’m probably going to skip tomorrow’s scheduled speed work and just do another easy run though.
While I am feeling a bit better today, I’m still not at 100% yet. I’m thinking now I need to eat lunch, do some yoga, then take a nap haha.
