Struggled to get up and moving again this morning. Getting back into a routine is a lot harder than falling out of one.
On the bright side, I don’t have to worry about getting up and out before the sun. The mornings have been pretty nice lately, mostly in the low to mid 60’s. So I can start running a little later and not be miserable in the heat/sun. I probably do need to get back into the habit of running at 8 am though. The half marathon I want to do starts at 8, so I want my body to be used to running at that time. Hahaha but for now I just need to get used to running again. Even though I was only out for a week I still feel a bit out of practice.
I finally did get out there and did an easy mile. I’m less tight and awkward today, so that’s good. 🙂 I still did some heel striking on my right foot (the one with the injured toe), but near the end I got that under control and during my 1/2 mile walk home I was actually walking normally. I haven’t been able to do that in over a week, so I’m definitely counting that as an accomplishment!
I probably could have gone a bit longer today but I don’t want to push my toe or my shin too far (although so far they’re both fine) and I’m still feeling super tired and sluggish. From all the junk I ate last week maybe? Or maybe from being so inactive? Either way it kinda sucks and I hope I start feeling more energetic soon. I ate a little bit better yesterday and I’m doing well so far today, but I guess one day and one morning of decent eating isn’t going to fix the damage a weeks worth of junk food did haha.
Anyway, I guess I need to take Lily for a walk, as she is acting all cute and trying to get my attention. Have a great day!
