I’m Back At Half Marathon Training, I Think? Maybe.

The hardest part about today was getting out of bed. Then putting on my shoes. The actually running. Hahaha so it was basically all kind of difficult.

This was literally the most awkward run I’ve ever done. I’m tight all over from sitting so much last week. Luckily my legs started loosening up towards the end of the mile I did. I wanted to go a little farther but I was starting to heal strike, so I figured I needed to stop. The nail bed of my toe is still a little tender (although it is starting to harden up), and I guess my toe is still a little sore/getting used to not having a nail, so I’m pretty sure that’s why some heal striking was happening. And of course all of the junk I ate last week didn’t make anything easier. That was hardcore dragging me down…

Anyway, since running didn’t go exactly as planned, I finished out my workout with 30 minutes on the stationary bike. That went a lot better than my run did. πŸ™‚

1 mile running on the road, followed by 7.4 miles on my stationary bike.

So yeah, my toe is definitely headed in the right direction. My nail bed isn’t bleeding at all anymore which is great, and like I said before its staring to harden up and get less tender.😁 It did swell a little after my workout, but I’m not worried about that.

My shin is feeling pretty good too! No pain at all during today’s run, even though I was running on a cambered road. Obviously I’m still going to have to be super careful with that but for now I’m just glad that it’s feeling better.

Things are definitely looking up! I’m definitely taking things easy, slow, and careful this week, but if all goes well I’m hoping I’ll be able to go a little bit harder next week. I’m may have to re-evaluate my half marathon goals, but at this point I don’t think they’re going to suffer too badly.πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

Happy Monday!
