Half Way Through 2016

Can you believe we’re already halfway through the year?! Like, how crazy is that?! I don’t know man, 2016 is just flying by. Hopefully that means the rest of the summer will also fly by. I’m sooooo ready for it to be cold again!

I know I’ve been saying this since like, March, but once it warms up I pretty much give up on any actual improvement and just focus on making it through the hotter months without losing any fitness. So far I think I’m doing well on that front. I definitely haven’t improved on anything, but have been staying relatively constant which is all I want.

Miles run in June: 53.33

Miles run in 2016: 258.88

That puts me right on track to hit my goal of running 500 miles this year! And with half marathon training starting at the end of July I should go over my goal. Go me!!

Are you on track to hit your goals?

How did the month of June go for you?

Haha yeah, but I think that’s mostly because I was dealing with injuries a lot at the beginning of the year. Either way though, I’ll take it. Thank you!! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

What a great idea to do a “halfway through the year” count! I ran 54.11 miles in June and 171.45 thus far in 2016. That’s a lot! Gosh, I’m a little bit proud of me. ๐Ÿ™‚ I haven’t run as much as you but maybe your winter weather is a little better? I go hide on the treadmill in the basement and Garmin doesn’t count those. Having gotten through my half marathon without any aggravating of the various ‘itis’-es, I’d say I’m on track to reach my goals. Thanks for thinking of this!

Thanks!! Although I don’t want to take too much credit, I feel like it’s not a very original idea. Wow! Sounds like you’re doing great!! You should be proud. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚
I live in the Midwest so our winters can get pretty nasty, but that’s actually when I prefer to run! It’s the hot weather that usually puts a damper on my milage.
