Weekly Recap: May 30th – June 5th, 2016

  • Double Day!! (Ran 4 miles in the morning and 2 in the evening)

The original plan was to do a 6 mile long run in the morning, but that just wasn’t going to happen, so I ended up splitting the run up. I’m glad I did too! The second run went sooooo much better!

  • 40 minutes (10.8 miles) on the stationary bike

Cross train days are the bane of my existence, but I still did it. 40 minutes on the stationary bike while attempting to keep my heart rate in the aerobic zone. I did pretty well for the most part. πŸ˜€

Also, I kinda want a real bike, but I’m also to terrified to actually ride out on the roads. Haha so I guess I’ll just stick with my stationary one.

Wednesday: Global Running Day

  • Intervals
  • Weeded part of the garden
  • About an hour and a half pitching softballs to my husband and brother-in-la

I accidentally woke up to late and it ended up being super hot on my run. This was supposed to be speed work but towards the end it ended up being a “just keep going and don’t die” kinda thing.

Did a 10 minute warm up, followed by 2 minutes of “hard” running, 1 minute of recovery, repeat 9 times, followed by a 5 minute cool down.

Wednesday ended up being pretty busy for me! Glad I skipped strength training or else I probably wouldn’t have been able to walk or lift my arms for a few days! According to my husband I threw probably over 150 pitches. I also got quite a few steps in! πŸ˜„

  • Rest day

My right arm/shoulder area is super sore. My legs are kinda feeling Wednesday’s workout as well. Glad I got Thursday off!!

  • 6 miles

Decided to do this around my neighborhood. That was a bad idea…the roads are super cambered and my hips were dead by the end of it.

  • Rest day

We drove to Oklahoma on Saturday! We got there around 11 am and then hung out with Luke’s family.

  • Rest Day

Hung out and played yard games.

Total weekly mileage: 15.84

Got my mileage up this week! Super happy about that. πŸ˜„ Going to try to keep it up next week.

Oklahoma is pretty, but I definitely prefer the Midwest lol. We could literally see the grass getting more green and less prickly as we drove back into Kansas.
