You probably noticed that I haven’t posted a weekly recap the past two weeks. I didn’t see much of a point since I wasn’t doing much because of my injured ribs. The whole thing would have been super boring. But now my ribs feel better and I’m back at it! So here’s what I did this week!!
- Jillian Michaels’ No More Trouble Zones DVD
- 10 minutes stretching/foam rolling
So, it’s been quite a while since I’ve done an hour long strength workout and Jillian Michaels’ workouts are no joke. I’m probably going to regret decision.
- Rest day
- 15 minutes stretching/foam rolling
So as predicted, I was super sore after Monday’s work out. So no workout for me. I originally wanted to do some yoga, but I ended up cleaning the house and didn’t end up doing it. I did get in a good stretching/foam rolling session though. So at least there’s that
- Tempo Run
- About 10 minutes of Blogilates arm videos
- 5 minutes of stretching
So, I haven’t done a tempo run in a while and I pretty much wanted to die during the actual tempo part.
I did my warm up alone because Dean was super wound up, and if I would have taken him from the start I wouldn’t have actually gotten to warm up for 15 minutes.
I did get him once my warm up was done though and I’m glad I did! I basically used him to pull me forward for the worst 10 minutes of my life…hahah working harder in the heat tends to do that to me.
My 10 minute cool down went better though. I stopped wishing for death after a few minutes and then actually started to enjoy myself again.
- Rest Day
No workout on Thursday, but we did stay out until 2 am celebrating my brother-in-law’s 21 st birthday. Hahaha I ended up getting a little more drunk than I had originally planned…
- Easy 20 minutes
Speed work was supposed to happen on Friday, but after quite a bit of alcohol and only 4 hours of sleep I figured that an easy 20 minute run was sufficient. Haha but that only happened after A LOT of coffee.
- 5 mile run
- Played softball for an hour and a half
First long run in two weeks! Honestly it was pretty uneventful, but oh well, they can’t all be super exciting.
- Rest Day
Not bad for jumping right back into things after an ingury, I think! I’m also thinking I’m going to try to up my mileage over the next few weeks. Sometimes I seem to get stuck at 10-15 miles a week.I’m not going to let that happen this time around.
