Whew! It was a hot one today! Around 2 pm it almost hit 90 degrees. Ewww…
If you read my post from this morning, you know my run didn’t go well and the heat definitely played a part in that. My ribs actually started to feel progressively better as the day went on, which is good, but I wish they would have felt good enough for me to have actually finished my run this morning.
While I was prepping to run, failing to complete my run, then showering, my husband and brother-in-law were at a car dealership purchasing a new car. The battery in our Prius crapped out and would have cost a ridiculous am out of money to replace, so they decided getting a new car was the best way to go. Now my brother-in-law is the proud owner of a 2010 Kia Forte. Pretty spiffy, right? 😄
If you live in the Kansas City or Lenexa area and are in the market for a Kia (or any new or used car) go to my contact page and shoot me an email and I’ll send you his info (plus if you do tell him we referred you we get $100 😉). The guy who worked with my husband was very professional, knowledgeable, and super helpful. He answered all of my husbands questions and made the whole process easy.
But back to the whole Prius debacle. My husbands grandparents bought the thing new back in 2005 and took REALLY good care of it. So when my brother-in-law moved in with us they gave it to him, since he was fresh out of high school, had no job, and needed a car to get to college. And that worked out for a while, but then one day out of the blue the battery started having problems. After doing some research and talking to a friend who used to work in a Toyota shop, we found out that the hybrid battery has died and it would cost somewhere around $3,000 to have it fixed. After much debate, the husband and brother-in-law decided it was just better to get another car.
So, they had planned on using the Prius as a down payment on the new car. They we’re actually in the dealership talking to when their dad called and said he wanted to buy the Pruis from them. So my husband had to rework the deal with the car dealer, which apparently took FOREVER, and 5 hours later his dad, two younger brothers, and step-mom showed up at our house to pick up the Prius.
So, they were at our house for about 10 minutes, then we all drove to the car dealership and everyone got what they needed done, then they left with the Prius… I really wish they would stay longer one of these day. Luke’s little brothers would definitely love that. But oh well, not much we can do about that.
Anyway, in between the car ordeal we took the monsters to the dog park. Unfortunately we went during the hottest part of the day, so everyone was miserable. Like, the dogs are never happy when we leave, but when we told them we were they got excited.
Until next time!
