After a hectic weekend Luke took the day off from work and we went shopping then got Chinese food. Good times! 😁
- Intervals. 10 minute warm up jog. 5 minutes running, 2 minutes walking, repeated 3 times.
For the first time ever I stopped at my house in the middle of a run. I started this run wearing a long sleeve shirt because I read somewhere that over dressing a bit in the spring can make transitioning to hot weather running a little easier. That’s all fine and good but by my second interval I was dying, so at the end of the third I stopped at home, changed my shirt, got a drink of water, then finished my last interval. I felt a lot better after I put a tank top on.

Haha I was apparently suppose to burn 400 calories during that strength workout. I burned 150. 😝 It’s all good though, it was still a hardcore strength workout and that’s what I was looking for. Then an easy 2.25 miles. Whew! I was still a bit wiped out from Tuesday’s long intervals. Those were tough!!

Thank goodness! Have you ever done a hard workout then throughout the day you felt your body getting more and more stiff, and you just knew that you were going to be in pain the next day? That’s what Wednesday’s strength workout did to me. Now I’m ridiculously sore. 😆
- 45 minute fartlek
Kinda fun, kinda shitty. I mean, fartleks are always fun, especially when they’re super unstructured like today’s was. But I was tired and just not feeling it on Friday. I am, however, super stoked that I did it and had a pretty decent overall pace, especially since I switched into “granny gear” to get up every hill I ran over. Haha I actually think that ended up helping and I wasn’t going as slow as I had thought.

So now that I’m about a week into this training plan I’ve decided that the main purpose of it is to teach you to run on tired legs. My legs have been tired since Wednesday…But this is a good thing! It’s totally taking me out of my comfort zone, and that tends to be a good thing. I mean, I would have never done two hard days in a row before, even though I’ve heard that sometime it’s super benifical to do so. Also, my quads are absolutely dead.

Good! We spent 8 hours and ended up staying up until midnight building a rabbit hutch last night. I am EXAUSTED and no amount of coffee is going to fix that. Luckily we’re not planning on doing anything else today, so I get to sit around and do nothing all day. 😁

Aside from being tired for most of the week, I’m happy with how it went! I had some pretty good workouts and I’m still making progress. Relentless forward motion is a mantra I use when the going gets tough on runs and that’s basically what I’m doing now. Relentlessly moving forward. If anything I should end up getting somewhere. 😉
