Everyday Adventures: Garden Edition

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!! ☘

Are you celebrating? We’re not planning on doing much. We are seeing lots of green, though! Our garden is coming to life!!

Some things  are doing a little bit better than others, but I’m still super excited about how things are going so far!

We’ve got pumpkins, daisies, peppers, and an avocado tree started inside. At one point we had lettuce as well, but that all died. Luckily we still have some lettuce seeds, so we’re going to try that again once it gets warmer and we can plant it outside.

The pumpkin plants are doing ok. I think they need a little more sunlight though. Luckily its been warm enough lately that I can put them outside during the day.

Daisies in the yellow pot and peppers in the green! I just watered them so that’s why the daisies are kinda knocked over.

Avocado tree! This thing is my pride and joy. I started it from a avocado pit last summer. At one point a cat ate the stem off of it, but it shot out a new one and its still going strong!

Outside we have broccoli, cauliflower, leeks, onions, a peach tree, and a blueberry bush. So far I haven’t seen any leeks or onions but the broccoli and cauliflower are starting to come up, the peach tree is flowering, and the blueberry bush is starting to grow leaves!!

Some little baby broccoli plants!

How pretty is our peach tree?!

So you can probably tell I’m a little bit excited about all of this. But honestly, what’s more exciting than planting little seeds/plants, then watching them grow and produce food, then harvesting said food and eating it?!

Well I think the whole process is super cool. Plus homegrown ALWAYS tastes better.

Pretty soon we’re going to get corn, tomatoes, zucchini, potatoes, carrots, and a few other things going. I’m super stoked about that! Homegrown tomatoes and zucchini are definitely my favorite!

WAIT! I lied! Peaches are my favorite and I absolutely CANNOT wait for those!

Do you have a green thumb?

Would you rather grow flowers or fruits and veggies? (I like flowers, but I definitely like growing things I can eat)

What’s your favorite fruit/vegetable?
