Weekly Recap: February 29th – March 6th 2016

Monday:

No run for me on Monday. My shin is feeling better, but I don’t want to push it. Especially since my husband has started running with me. Haha I want him to keep running, but he’ll take any excuse he can get to not run, so I need to stay healthy.

Tuesday:

  • 2 mile run with the husband
  • Ab work
  • A little bit of jujitsu

Wednesday:

  • Rest Day

Haha apparently we both needed it on Wednesday.

Thursday:

  • 2 mile run by myself
  • 2 mile run with the husband

Yay doubling! (Does it actually count as doubling if the first run happened s 2-ish hours before the second?) Haha I was originally going to wait for Luke to get home but I got impatient so I went out and did 2 miles before he got home, then we did run/walk intervals together. He’s worried that he’s holding me back on our runs, but I think all these intervals are actually making me faster a little bit faster. πŸ˜„  Oh, I also negative split my first run, which is always a good thing. 😬

Run I did by myself. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten in 2 miles under 25 minutes.

Friday: 

I’m not entirely sure what to call Friday. I didn’t work out, but I also don’t think it qualifies as a rest day because we started our garden and that’s not exactly easy.

Saturday:

  • Hour of running
  • More gardening
  • More playground shenanigans

My hour runs are getting a little longer every week! And yes, gummy worms are the best post-run food. πŸ˜‰ The only downside to this run was that it was almost 70 degrees by the end of it and I felt like I was going to die. The heat always does that to me and I really hate it…

Between running, gardening, walking, and playing on the playground, we kinda did a lot on Saturday! No wonder I was so tired by the end of the day!

Sunday:

  • Rest day

I’m sore EVERYWHERE! Originally I wanted to do a short easy run today, but that’s just not going to happen. I feel like I need a good stretch and a long nap!

Total weekly running mileage: 12.55

I’m pretty happy with how this week went! I took it a little easier running-wise because of my shin and it’s definitely paying off! It didn’t hurt at all during my long run Saturday and it still seems fine now. I’m really hoping this is the last bout of injuries I’ll have for a while, but I guess we shall see. Cambered roads have not been kind to me…
