We Survived!

Well, I may have almost killed Luke while we were running. It was cold and I was excited and I just wanted to GO! Haha I tend to excel in the cold, but it drains him the same way heat drains me. So he wasn’t too happy with me almost leaving him in the dust a few times.

Ab work was killer. I think it was particularly hard because it’s had only been 3 days since we did it last. We’re already improving though! We finished a minute faster and I’m not all that sore this morning! I am super tired though…but I suppose that’ll happen. I just can’t decide if I want to take a rest day or not. Meh, I’ll figure it out later.

Our current ab routine.

And last but not least, the whole jujitsu thing! Which actually went better than I had expected. We did a few choke holds and we went super slow, step by step, and nobody ended up getting hurt! Luke also taught me how to take down a potential aggressor (I’m not all that great at that part) and then put them into a triangle choke? At least I think that’s what it was…Anyway, I could probably make an attacker pass out and that’s pretty cool!

Now then, I need to go make some more coffee because one cup was definitely not enough.

Haha I actually just realized I never changed that! Originally I wanted to do a regular plank for 1 min, then do 1 min side planks on both sides. But side planks hurt my husband’s shoulders, so we’ve just been doing 1 minute of regular planks. Lol and don’t get me wrong, around the half way point I usually have to lift into a down dog for a few seconds! Haha I suck at planks…

Totally! I don’t understand how running in the cold could be so difficult! But I suppose everyone is different. 🙂

Been thinking about your injury niggle and just came across this video that you could consider trying out : http://mobilitymastery.com/learn-the-one-stretch-that-relieves-plantar-fasciitis-shin-splints-achilles-pain-heel-pain-and-compartment-syndrome/
I have to say, I’m not a fan of stretching an injury (I don’t stretch at all in order to avoid injury – but that’s a whole other story).
I know you stretch as part of your workouts, so maybe give it a try.

Huh, I’ve never seen that stretch before! I’m not entirely sure if I could do this on my foam roller though. I have a rumble roller not a smooth one like she uses in the video, and the though of even putting my shin on it like that makes me cringe. I seriously appreciate it though! Thank you so much!! 😄
